Some sort of Caterpillar X Transformers V promotion. Not entirely sure what it is, but it seems you can get a cap with Caterpillar on the front and Transformers on the back, if you hire a CAT...so if that's your thing...

Caterpillar INC. had a vote within the company to name the excavator Autobot, and apparently Trench won. There was a news feed about it in my corporate access page.

Ah, so Scrapper was a giant walking product placement. That explains his presence.

I like the way the CAT logo just happens to sit perfectly on the front of the robot mode.

 

What are the movies but product placement? There was also a huge blurb on the corporate site when they had an excavator prominent in Skyfall.

I wish we got to see more of this guy. I liked the design and thought he was cool as a background guy. But we only get about three seconds of him in robot mode and about five in alt-mode.

I'm not a big "truck cap" person, but I want that hat.
