So, so close to Ultra Magnus. And the time of this post is 7:11 am. :lol

My father-in-law is a manager for a factory that makes bento box meals exclusively for 7-Eleven, and agreed that the food is pretty good. I would never eat the prepared food at American 7-Eleven outside of their coffee, but Japanese 7-Eleven is a whole different story. Kombini food is great.

It's also one of the few places where you american card works at the ATM. American cards are no good at a lot of places. 7/11 was farther away from where I stayed last time.(Yes, I found it looking for Mos burger)

Lawson's was next door and Family Market was across the street, I used to get the chicken cutlets all the time:thumb
I still wasn't brave enough to try this in my hotel though,

Seriously, though there is no other place I would recommend then Japan to visit if you could visit anywhere. Its clean and safe, with great food and it helps most of the stuff we collect can be found there.

I actually have a mixed feeling for this one. On one hand, I have always wanted an official MP10 White Ultra Magnus. It's the main reason why I haven't picked up the KO MP10U despite so much temptation from it. This release screams everything about the white Magnus but the detail and color are not there yet as there are no Autobot Insignia and no blue Ax. I'm also not too fond of the silver hand or the placement of 7/11 logo on the trailer (yes they have their reason but I don't like it). Furthermore, I'm not a fan of Magnus hauling Prime trailer. It's either he comes with his own car carrier trailer or no trailer at all. A Prime trailer with Magnus cab is useless to me and only add more to the cost.

On the other hands, I like the idea Prime being a Pepsi and Magnus being a 7/11 truck. I also like the food from 7/11. But knowing TTomy (and Hasbro), they're probably labeling him as Prime. If that's the case, I now have excuse not to purchase him as I tend to buy only figure that has the name Ultra Magnus attaches to it, lol. Just like TTomy/Hasbro think they can slap the name OPrime to any figure and the fans will buy anything. To me, the red eyes with blue accent on the forehead and mouthplate will always be UM.

So to sum it up, if he's label as UM, I will likely buy it for the sake of my UM collection. If it's called Prime, maybe it's good a thing, then my attention is still on the KO MP10 Magnus since that one is cheaper and I can get one without the trailer.

Where convenience stores are actually convenient.

Along with 7-Eleven, Family Mart and Lawson's are pretty ubiquitous. My wife swears by Mini Stop, a much smaller kombini chain in Aichi prefecture but trying to find one of those here in the Tokyo area is like trying to find a unicorn. I did see a Mini Stop once though. :D  Sunkus (Circle K) is a pretty good one too. My wife loves those oden hot pots (food, often vegetarian like daikon and tofu, boiled in hot soup) that kombini stores sell near their counters, especially in the cold of winter.

Japan is great for Transformers collectors though it does help to shop online to supplement brick-and-mortar store buying. Transformers as a brand is still admittedly much smaller in scale and popularity than, say, Gundam, and TF offerings can be slim at actual retail.

I turned my troop/subordinate (he's an admitted nerd like me though he's more a Gundam fan) onto the fact that Amazon.co.jp delivers and that lots of things to include toys and concert/event tickets can be purchased at kombini stores. I think I created a monster. :lol

Back to this 7-Eleven Convoy, he admittedly does look good, at least the figure itself. I'm sure that the 7-Eleven logo can be easily replaced with a normal Autobot symbol since it's a separate piece of the shoulder. The problem is the trailer since they totally ignored the existing molding for the lines and placement for the (Autobot) symbol and painted the 7-Eleven logo and lines wherever, resulting in a very Frankenstein'd trailer.

I realize that they were trying to recreate the real markings on an actual 7-Eleven truck, but they could've at least remolded the sides of the trailer to make it flat instead (but that probably would've cost too much to retool the trailer).

If they were selling just the figure or gave us the option to leave out the trailer, I might have bitten on this but as it stands, it's going to be a pass for me.

For anyone who may be interested in an MP-10 in Ultra Magnus colors, the MP10-U KO was recently re-released.

I picked one up from AliExpress seller Show.Z a few weeks back for $89.99. It looks like it's gone up to $99.99 now. It's also available there with a white trailer for $139.99.

The quality of the figure is good, however mine only came in a plain cardboard box (may be partially why it's cheaper than tf-direct who has the figure listed at $124.95).

Honestly this one kills any desire I had for the MP10U. Bout the only thing I wish this had is the clear blue crotch and axe and I can live without those with the funkiness this one has.

Tempting but I really I don't want to buy another version of Hasui's Swimsuit Model Optimus Prime. I hope I can hold off until they make an accurate version of Prime.

Either all blue or all green as a Minimus Ambus homage would\'ve been great. The half-assing is not appreciated.

I'm only interested if his trailer opens up and unfolds into a Slurpee machine for my kitchen.

(If it does that I'll take 2)

Hell yeah! First time I heard someone say how good the food at Wawa was, I didn't get it. "Gas station food? No way!"
Then I experienced Hoagie Fest and I was sold!!

Despite the multiple complaining in the various threads this may be signs of a good thing. Gundam often gets these 7/11 variants as it is considerably more popular than Transformers. Everything from HG to PG are game for these variants. The fact that this is the first MP let alone transformer to get one, may indicated an increase in popularity of the line in Japan, hence the LG/MP survey a few months ago.

The gas stations are a recent addition, Wawa was around for decades before that. :thumb

And knowing is half the battle!
I had no idea... Wawa only started making it's way to the southeast in the last few years. I discovered their goodness about two years ago in Florida.

What I want to know is: how can I get this in the US without flying to Japan for a Slurpee?
