Not really a simple slide and groove system a la Pandinus could easily make armor swaps practical and cost effective. You can even see some of the panels interchanged between the two Unicrons: The planet shell panels on BW Unicron's arms are swappped onto the planet shell kibble on the Armada Unicron's back.

 

Looks like one figure with interchangeable parts to me.

 

I'm not talking about the planet shells. I'm talking about everything else. There's assemblies like the shoulders, forearms, and knees which are clearly screwed together and built as solid chunks, not easily-swappable facades.

Also trying to figure out how the lower legs work. The ankle areas and side panels are obviously the same, but the rest of them don't look to be built in the same way. At first, I thought maybe the clear "T" shaped panels could be pulled out and swapped out for the Armada shins, but there's a bunch of other shapes that don't match up for that to work.

 

My point about the planet shell was that the two share the same kibble it was moved around on the robot modes and that seemed evidence that pieces can be shifted around and attached in different configurations. The only screws I see are in the backs of the thighs and shoulders armor, and that screw in the armada shoulder armor is on both sides and may only to be attach the outer part of the shoulder pad (in fact in one of the pictures he's missing that part of his left shoulder armor). Interestingly the early pictures showed the BW version with Armada Unicron's ring that turns into the wings.

 

I also hope for more Informations about the Price the next Months.

As i said before, i HOPE that the Company does not get to Greedy at all.

I saw their Price from the GOD - 01 Thunderstorm...it is really expensive for an 30cm Figure.

I still hope that the Price does not explode at all.

3rd Party or not, if this Monster goes beyond 400$ (So even more expensive than an 3A 50cm Figure)
i will not buy this.

Producing 2 Different Versions of the same Figure is also very Risky indeed.

If you have for example 10 Collectors, and 9 Collectors are Interested in Armada Unicron Version only, and only ONE Collector
wants to buy the Beast Wars Neo one, then, as a 3rd Party Company, you are screwed, because they Produced the other
Version that no one wants to buy, at a high cost.

It is a very risky Move indeed, to produce 2 Versions. Because if Version A sells better than Version B, i really could imagine that Garatron will lose Money with this Move.

Parts that can be switched on the same Figure, is the best Option in my Opinion.

Kay, so what I asked had nothing to do with Sephiroth's post.
I just wanted to check and see if this project still had some life in it. Being interested in the Beast Wars Neo Unicron and all. Just haven't seen anything since these initial photos. Which is why I asked if this project is still happening.

 

Oh, well sorry for the misunderstanding. And true, I've seen photos but there has been no word of it releasing. I worry that it will have tue same fate as the last 3rd party Unicron.

 

Well I hope not. I want this on the shelf more than the Armada Unicron I've got displayed with my Blendtrons. I'd drop stupid dumb giant third party money on it, for sure too.

 

Weren't they supposed to do two of these, one for BW Neo and one for Armada? Seemed pretty ambitious. If we don't hear anything by the end of TFCon, I'll definitely be worried.

I could imagine, that Garatron is still thinking about an Price Tag,
or how they can produce "2 Versions in 1 Body".

Maybe they are to scared to show an "estimated" Price?

Many People also said, that if the Price will Sky Rocket, they will not buy.
I would also say if this thing goes to the 500$ Dollar mark, i will not buy.

I do not know much about 3rd Party Business, BUT i know that it SHOULD be possible to produce that "Monster" with an 300$ Dollar mark or below.

It is also a bit annoying for me, that there is no Life Sign of this Unicron, since i want
to calculate my Finances. I just want to buy him, so this...expensive
"Perfect" Unicron Purchase is finally done.

It would be a good Idea from Garatron if they would say YES or NO.

How well is their Thunderstorm selling? I never hear anything about that toy either.

 

It better not be dead! Getting a toy of BW Neo Unicron would be a dream come true! (I never liked the Armada Unicron toy.)

 

Thats what i said about their Thunderstorm Figure, some People bought it, but not many.

The Thunderstorm in my Opinion is REALLY Expensive, i think around 165$ Dollars or EVEN MORE for an 30 centimetre Figure
is very greedy in my Opinion! Many 3rd Party Figures / Characters are out there with the SAME Size, but half of the Price

If an 12 Inch / 30 centimetre Figure already costs 165$ Dollars, then Unicron should be even more...
Since he is even bigger > Judging from Price and Size of Thunderstorm of 165$, Unicron is a Monster, that should have an Estimated Price...350$ - 400$ i think.
and that is just to much, sorry.

Only thing i know, if Thunderstorm is already at 165$ and above, Unicron will NOT stay at 250$
That Price would be a Miracle....

I think that Garatron has the same "Problem", they just do not know if they should Risk to Release such a Beast
and if a Release > What Price shall it be? Are there enough Collectors that want to buy him?

And the Price
If Price to high > no one will Purchase, because people will be shocked when you offer a 500$ Monster, that goes even beyond 3As Price offers
If Price to low > Money Loss on Production, even if a few people purchase him

If any TF char should Prime-1'd, it's this one. Doesn't have to be transformed for me as long as they nail that bot mode and give it that movie pose he has right after transforming. Make it a huge statue, 100% diecast. Would be sweet!

Off-topic: am I the only finds it funny for company who's slogan is "create everything" to release a figure who destroys everything? Not just me, right? Right?!

Iam angry at Garatron, because they are not responding to Fans Questions.

They do not even tell us "Yes" or "No"
I really would like to hear a SIMPLE Answer from them "Yes Unicron is still coming" or "No has been Cancelled"
Is that so hard for the Company to give that Simple Answer to all of us?

As long as the Company does not respond, it will stay a Mistery if this Figure will ever be released or not.

 

I totally forgot about this project, I hope its not in limbo with the recent BW MPs I would love to see that BW Neo Unicron actually happen.
