the soundwave tablet looks pretty damn cool, on the box at least.

optimus looks really stupid.

 

BUUUUUUUT it's OPTIMUS. He could turn into a rotten banana and people would still buy it. Seriously.

I'm scratching my head on this toy, though... Why wouldn't they make this BEFORE the SW tablet?   And if they want to sell toys, they should also look into Megatron or maybe SS.

AND, even if the majority of us complain about this design/choice? The majority of complainers will change their mind and buy it. Because it's Optimus. And a TF. And MUST. BUY. ALL. OPTIMI.   (Also, this being a Chinese release, you can bet they like their Optimus in China, so this will definitely sell well overseas, imo!  )

He's turned into a pen, a teddy bear and a fucking shoe before this, so I don't see what the big deal is. It doesn't even look that bad and is nicely off the wall.

 

Honestly i was being sarcastic because of how ppl were dogging movie optimus we we first saw him and till this day. I could careless if he turned into a gorilla

If he actually works as a powerbank with decent capacity then I want one.

 

It looks okay. It's a hollow mess of flat panels but, you know, whatever. It is what it is - an overpriced marketing tool that will likely succeed at its goal despite any and all complaints about how awful it looks.

No chance in hell. That's like asking Device Label to not create outdated, overpriced devices, or for Music Label Soundwave to produce good-quality music.

It'll be made as cheaply as possible. You'll be able to get a FAR better portable battery charger for the price this thing will cost.

 

Passed on Xiaomi Soundwave because I didn't like the shattered look in tablet mode and the robot mode didn't look like anything to me. Probably gonna pass on this too. Just not cool... to me.

6,500 mAh capacity. That's a nice size for something that's also a robot. Granted, on eBay you can get a 12,000 mAh battery for about $10, but still, robot with USB sword.

 

This is cool. Reminds me of those little circuit board warrior things that turned household items into battle stations and vehicles.

WHAT WERE THOSE CALLED???
My best friend in kindergarten had one that turned from a circuit board or floppy disk into a jet like object. There was a little rider. I remember a Pepsi can and a soccer ball also. I thought they were amazing, and later when I learned of Microman, assumed it was the same origin as Soundwave. The little action figures were closer to Dinorider guys though... so obviously not Microman. In all these years I haven't seen them again--but maybe I'm not searching hard enough...

 

It drives me nuts too! I always forget what they're called! I literally just found the episodes on Youtube not more than last year, and still forgot the name of it!

They had a PC battle station too that was in JC Penny catalogs.
