The first draft is done? The first draft for a movie he's been announcing as "comming soon " since 2003 is done, in 2017. Good job.
Todd McFarlane announces a new Spawn Movie production! The iconic Image Comics character is apparently coming back to the silver screen, since he signed with the producer Jason Blum, from Blumhouse Production. That was fast.
Well the question is does anyone care about Spawn anymore? And how will it do with out Neil Gaiman's characters? ......And will Marvel troll them by introducing Angela in a movie running at the same time She's Thor's long lost sister and was a member of the Guardians. .......I so want this to happen. OHHHH maybe they can do a Miracle Man movie another character Mcfarlane claimed to own. Plus they could troll DC at the same time since he's so similar to Shazam.
Well, I guess if there's any time that McFarlane's one trick pony creation will have a chance to actually be successful, this would be it. You're welcome, says Deadpool & Logan.
If they can do a good enough job reintroducing the character to a new audience, then maybe. It all comes down to if they can get a good enough script and can wow people with an interesting cinematic visually style...Donno if that'll happen, but I guess well just have to wait and see.
Miracle Man does not fit in the MCU, and Moore's run is almost universally agreed to be one of the best comics ever published.
Doesn't have to be in the actual MCU.They can say in world without iron man or something. Marvel does own the rights though. So they can do it if they want to.
Oh wow, McFarlane announced something new on Spawn. Now in another few years he'll say the final draft is ready.
I will say that I think Blumhouse is the right place for this. The horror elements are all there. The budget will be low too, so it can be as R rated as it needs to be. With that being said, they'll probably also give Todd Macfarlane too much control. The guy is one of the best comic book artists I can think of, but a consistently good writer he is not
https://www.comicbookmovie.com/spaw...about-spawn-compares-the-film-to-jaws-a152788 Spoiler There's two big roles in the script. There's obviously sort of Spawn himself, although in a weird way it's not the biggest role, and then there's the cop. The cop is this character Twitch who's been there since issue #1. Twitch is the role in this one, and I sort of refer to him as my sheriff Brody, who is the sheriff in the Jaws movie. Although it was called Jaws, Jaws didn't really talk a lot in his movie, right? He just kind of showed up at the opportune time to make the movie worthwhile," McFarlane explained. The comparison to Jaws is an interesting one, something he McFarlane elaborated on. "It was sheriff Brody, the humans talking, chasing the fantastical thing that sort of made the movie, and to me, there's that element. Everything else is normal in this story other than (gesture) the shadow moves, and at times even when it moves, the cop just sort of thinks he's losing his mind so he doesn't even trust that the shadow's moving. If you're a bad guy, then this thing is going to come and it's going to get you."
So it's a Spawn movie where Spawn isn't the main character? That's either going to be a great idea or an absolutely terrible one
Heh, ever since Michael Bay compared his first Transformers movie to Jaws, I get worried whenever anyone drops this "it's sorta like Jaws" claim.
Everything I've heard about this Spawn reboot sounds terrible. I don't even understand what was wrong with the first one. I've seen worse movies adapted from comics and I think the changes in Spawn were rather superficial not so unfaithful to the source material that it ruins the movie. Though the CGI doesn't really hold up anymore. It looked cool at the time but quickly turned to crap. I didn't really have anything to compare it to when I first saw the movie but looking at it now it's almost as bad as the CGI in the first Hulk movie.
Tired of the "Jaws for X" or "like Jaws but with x" bs. But then again, this movie will never be made anyway.
