I love that Arcee and Screamer. BB is cool too but a cat called Bee would just be weird.

If they made that Lockdown and did it right, it would be an instant buy. That thing is bad ass.

Sideswipe as a bull is a stroke of genius. Mirage as a Stallion would be fire too.

Because it looks like Primal, is colored like Primal, is called "Beast Convoy" (Primal's JP name) in the Doujinshi where the design came from.

There's nothing about this toy that evokes Prime instead of Primal

 

No interested in creating a T Beast collection, but Optimus Primal is....well, Optimus Primal and thus one of my favourite TF characters (and possible favourite good guy leader). And I have a small Optimus Primal collection so who knows...

 

Well, this is entirely unexpected and a fantastic direction for a 3P to go - I don't think we should expect official versions of these designs, ever, so they're really venturing into new territory.

I'm intrigued, I like a lot of these designs.

(Also still hoping one of the as-yet-unknown GT-7 and GT-9 is a Diaclone recolor Devastator, but not holding my breath).

My first love is Zoids/robotic animals. And I'm a UC Gundam fan. And I love transforming robots. These things are all three, goshdarnit.

 

Cant wait for more info on this, I am so sold, awesome designs, but I don't think I could pay third party prices for most of these, ill defo get the first 3 doe  

 

As you guys already know, the design of Generations Toy GT-10 "Optimus Primal" figure is COPIED from Japanese artist 倉持ｷｮｰﾘｭｰ (twitter: kyoryu_kuramo).
Although there's rumor that Generation Toy contacted 倉持ｷｮｰﾘｭｰ for the GT-10 figure, but that was nonsense according to twitter posts from 倉持ｷｮｰﾘｭｰ.

As the original designer/aritst 倉持ｷｮｰﾘｭｰ want to spread the words, I'd like to translated the twitter posts from him.

Because I cannot post links of the original tweets, I will attach screen capture of it after the translated twitter posts.

Translated version of the twitter posts as following:

”It seems like there will be an unlicensed toy as the attached picture (refer to Generation Toy GT-10 figure) getting released in the future, and the design is really close to one of my fanart.
I did NOT draw the skeches for mass production of unlicensed toys.
In addition, I have NOT given any approval to it. Afterall, I am not the copyright holder.”

As you guys can see, even if the 3rd party toys are in "grey zone" of the laws and regulations. But they may affect the artists's reputation, works, etc.
I cannot say "Hey you guys shouldn't buy this toy because blah blah blah," but I want to spread the words.
I know it may be rude, but I hope you guys will spread the words too.

So somebody who drew unlicensed art is now concerned that somebody is making unlicensed product off of his unlicensed art?

 

The doujin/fan circle scene in Japan operates in a grey area with unspoken boundaries that are variable from situation to situation and highly dependent on relationship and goodwill with the owners. He's just covering his own ass and who's to say exactly why.

Regardless, there are still more than a few designs currently out there, for GT or any other 3P to chew on.

I had concerns about this, since if they paid the doujin artist for his designs, he's now making money off unlicensed art that's against the spirit of doujinshi. And since the artist implies he might know people at TT, he has to make sure they understand he's not making money off the whole thing.

The state of doujinshi in Japan lies in a gray area, perhaps more so than third-party Transformers. It's fanart usually sold at cons such as Comiket, often by amateurs, but sometimes also established pros who want to dip their toes in or show appreciation for a franchise they are not affiliated with. Doujin artbooks aren't mass-printed, and generally Japanese IP holders allow this because they want to engender goodwill among their market base.

If they can't pay the guy without getting into legal trouble is one thing. But if they're not even asking his permission, that's gross.

Kinda turns me off this set.

 

I love the T-Beast designs but... this one just seems a bit rough to me. Even the design in the book is cleaner, in my opinion. I'm not sure but maybe I'll like it more once we see more pictures.

(Also, I hope nothing bad comes of these existing - I doubt it, but still).

 

I wanna see a prowl design. Maybe an eagle.
