We have now seen Optimus kick butt in 5 movies. However, there have been two distict versions of him. The original Trilogy version and the Knight version. Which rendition do you think is the strongest? If they were to face-off, which would win? Please consider Original Prime's battles starting at Bonecrusher and ending at Sentinel Prime. Knight Prime starts with Galvatron and ends with Quintessa. Based on technique and strength, who would win if they fought each other?
Okay, if we're going balls deep with this does the original trilogy prime get to use his trailer? If so, its over for TLK Prime. Because at least that Prime had an arsenal at his disposal with the trailer doubling as weapons platform AND a jetpack with two giant guns to take down enemies from the skies. Although I screwed up and voted for knight Optimus, I think in terms of sheer firepower and abilities OG Optimus takes this W even in the hand to hand categories, having multiple combat weapons at the ready (dual energon swords, the rare battle axe, that hook, those cyber brass knuckles) to completely decimate foes. Original trilogy Optimus wins honestly.
But if you look at how he really uses it, it comes off like a double jump(in combat situations that is) and he doesn't have anywhere near the fire power during flight
ot prime..not even a debate, especially when he finally got his trailer..id take evasion mode prime over knight prime..not that i hate knight prime..it was cool in 4 but i feel like they missed an opportunity to give prime another look by altering his appearance for nemesis prime
Votes can now be changed. As for the weaponry, it's only fair not to pull any punches. O.G. Prime used his trailer arsenal, but Knight Prime's weapons themselves transform. (like his shield/blaster) OG Prime's forrest battle in ROTF, and rage scene in DOTM were very cool. Then again, so were Knight Prime's Shanghai Charge In AOE and Infernicons fight in TLK. I wonder which Megatron would win?
Original trilogy Prime. First movie aside, it seems the only true way to stop him is to kill him. You can shoot at him, blow him up, cut his arm off, etc. but if you don't kill him, he's going to keep getting up. Knight Optimus, on the other hand, was basically paralyzed after Lockdown fired two missiles at him. Lockdown could've killed Prime right then and there if he didn't have orders to capture.
I think Knight Prime is way more refined in combat, you can really see Prime's growth in fight style movie after movie and TLK (even AOE) Prime is the better moving one during battle. With weapons though, the original one is going to win anyway, it is literaly a one robot-army, TLK and AOE is more hand to hand combact focused. Original Prime with sword and axe VS TLK Prime with sword and shield = TLK Prime win.
IT's the same guy so...eiiiither? I mean, he's a one man army death machine in the triology...and a one man army death machine in AOE and TLK...soo...no diiiiiifference?
Old Optimus gets his trailer? Does that mean new Optimus gets his Grimlock? If we're talking just weapons that come out of his main body, I'd say new Optimus still. He's got a big ass sword and a big gun shield too. He still has his energon blades as seen in Aoe. If he kept those in his body upgrade, I'm sure he kept most (if not all) of his other weaponry as well. Old Optimus is a kibbly mess (I love the design, but its true). He has so many little parts that Knight Optimus could grab and rip off while Knight Optimus is far sleeker, so old Optimus wouldn't have that same advantage. I also get the feeling that new Optimus is more agile. And he can fly. New Optimus is an upgrade. That's what he was meant to be. Logically, he has the same weapons as before but now he has more. He has more abilities and his body is advantageous if they're gonna go for the whole dirty fight thing that movie Optimus so loves.
They're both the same guy just with a different look. They'd really be pretty even though The Last Knight version has had a little more experience. That being said if he were to win a fight against his past self then he would never exist to have the fight with himself in the first place. I'm not even going to get into whatever messed up time travel plot would cause him to fight himself in the first place. Just basically there is no winning a fight with yourself.
If we're only talking about standart versions and not power ups (in which case OT wins easily); Knight Optimus does seem to have less stamina. In the Bumblebee fight scene, when he was pinned to the ground by Bee, he couldn't get up for 15 second and in return ate a hammer to the face (yes Cade was on top of him but Optimus was bloodlusted and was still in trance so I don't think it was because of Cade AND he was visibly trying to get up but failed). He was also pinned by Lockdown's projectiles and the sword going through his chest but I think this can be excused. Remember, Lockdown's projectile was made of a very durable material and was traveling at high speed , it's understandable that it might have messed Prime up. In both instances, the objects went through his inner workings. We've never seen OT Prime's chest getting pierced that badly (only in one instance in Forest Battle before his death, he was still moving when he was stabbed by Megatron but so was Knight Prime in AOE when he was stabbed by Lockdown). Skill wise, they're the same, both go through Decepticons like butter (I don't think a few years of practice makes much of a difference, especially considering that they're thousands of years old.) I mean, Knight Optimus does have that flying ability but he doesn't use it that often, I don't think that's a game changer. Firepower wise, AOE Optimus' gun seemed kinda weak, LK Prime's (in full power) could push Bumblebee off when its projectile exploded near him. LK gun in its rapid fire mode was pretty weak and only seemed to be an annoyance to Bumblebee. On the other hand, Movie one Optimus' weapon teared off pieces from Megatron's armor, in ROTF, it threw Megatron, a multi ton metal man, through a wall. OT Prime's firepower seems stronger. So yes, OT likely wins if we consider them different individuals and go off simply by their showings. Well in some stories, traveling back in time merely creates alternate universes. Meaning these Primes might be their alternate universe selves instead of really really being the same guy. It's unknown which rule Bayverse would follow in terms of time travel though (if it were to happen, it would probably be the way you describe it though).
