If the giftset was in line with some event or waited until before Power of the Prime's started, that'd be one thing. That's what good companies do. But nooo, Takara played us like to an insidious level. We all KNEW when Powermaster was revealed, Super Ginrai was coming. Takara knew if it was just a redeco, we wouldn't have care, so out came a generous retool. Improvements aside, he had one job, to get us thinking, "they must be planning a God Bomber". So a lot of chumps ordered one. Right around the time domestic vendors started offering, they revealed God Bomber. Sweet, pleased with our foresight a lot of chumps ordered one. Then Hasbro revealed they were going to dish out the Super Ginrai too, and preorders came up just as God Bomber orders appeared in US vendors. Awesome! Sure, GB had tolerance issues, but we could dig it. We wanted God Ginrai, we've always wanted God Ginrai. There have been many, MANY efforts to take a prime toy and Super Ginrai it up, with legit coming soon wet dreams of God Ginrai in the future. We had the toy we wanted in official plastic. And through the dancing and singing, Takara waited. Just long enough for preorders to be locked in. Then BAM! Set of both, with improved looks, AND super relevant extra titan masters only available through it, AND will easily cost less than the chumps spent on the pair through whatever means. At this point, it'd be weirder if they didn't fix GB's fit and finish. I have said this before, being a fan of something is like being in an abusive relationship. And Takara just had itself a time slapping us around.
In all fairness, we knew Takara was doing a lot of original tooling for these guys and that there would probably be a reuse of the molds sometime, we just didn't expect that it would be announced within a week of God Bomber's release. Personally I'm more miffed that Cab and Minerva can only be acquired through this box set (and remain paranoid that after I buy this box set Takara will reveal full body Headmaster Jrs.)
Thinking about Starwars stuff, I really liked Lego's "Bionicle style" Grevious and K-2SO, but could NOT get into any human characters of that line. I think the fact the Grevious and K-2 were largely robotic helped sell me on the aesthetic.
Some pointers from a regular Zarya player/former Sombra dabbler: One of the main things you want to do with Sombra is hack enemy tanks whenever you get the chance, particularly any with a sustainable shield like D.Va or Reinhardt. You likely won't be able to kill them yourself, but removing their defenses makes them an easy target for your team. Generally speaking, Sombra's gameplan is more about giving her allies openings than it is about getting a lot of kills on her own. With Zarya, the main trick is mastering her shields. Never waste it on anyone who's not actively engaged in combat. The duration is too short and the recharge is too long. Use it on yourself/allies when you/they are already taking fire. It allows you to quickly build up charge for your weapon. Your main beam can be devastating once fully powered up, especially on targets like D.Va and Genji who are used to being able to absorb or reflect enemy fire. Your alt fire is a lobbed attack like a grenade launcher; it does reasonably good damage with a moderate splash radius and can be arced over barriers. Zarya's ult works best when you have multiple targets in range and one or more allies on hand who also have their ults ready: She's a hard character to master but one who's really rewarding once you have a good handle on her.
To help confirm your guys' talk about what Genji can and can't reflect, he can basically reflect anything that is considered a projectile. Things like Hanzo, Mei and Zarya's ultimates can absolutely be reflected since they start as projectiles. It's really tricky and basically comes down to lucky timing, but I've seen it happen before. A genji reflected my Mei ultimate randomly a good while back. It was simultaneously amazing and infuriating.
Primitive Skateboarding made the Transformers skateboards that were showed off by Hasbro at various Cons. Transformers
I know dick about skateboards and Shreddicus may be totally on brand. But I was kind of expecting a skateboard company to go nuts with his trailer. It seems like a great canvas to do some cool graffiti or something.
Am I the only one who wants to get Shreddicus to represent 10th anniversary Optimus Primal? It would go well with the Tankor/Rhinox from Hardhead...
That Circuitbreaker idea is awesome! I let that figure go and regret it even more now. Not that I paint anything... I think it's so cool reprinting toys, and wished I'd thought of that when I was young. All I panted were model kits and miniatures. And I never had the patience to complete Them well enough for a good paint job. Just saw some SDCC Mythic Legions. They got orcs... I like listening to you guys but may need to slow down when the spoilers come... but I might not watch it for a while.
If you are worried about movie spoilers we recorded a separate movie podcast so you shouldn't have to worry to much about in the normal episodes.
