I see that many others have posted their ideas of what may happen in the movie, especially concerning Barricade and Bumblebee's rivalry/relationship, and I had a dynamic/concept/pretty much a quarter of a screenplay of my own. Obviously the red car has a chance of being Cliffjumper, but my idea for the movie would not include him. It would be more similar to the Iron Giant, with a singular robot protagonist, but the end would be far different with the introduction of Barricade. I figured that having Barricade loom in the shadows, perhaps never even appearing in the foreground while still being obvious enough to be noticed by audiences, (a bit more subtle than in MV1) would be in character for the espionage-heavy role that he's filled in 2/3 of his movies. I think a nice parallel to TF1 could be created in a scene later in the movie the audience gets an obstructed view of Barricade contacting (and hopefully name-dropping) Starscream or Soundwave, stating that 'we've located an Autobot and he might be able to help us find the Cube" aloud, not unlike Sam watching Bumblebee calling the Autobots to Earth. While the first few acts can serve as a time to soften BB's previously mentioned 'tough, soldier-like nature' and build the relationship between Hailee and Bee with direct interactions and flashbacks (hopefully some stuff during The War, like with DotM), the third act sees Barricade finally reveal himself to our main characters, and confront Bee and engage in a MV1-esque duel. Frenzy would attack Steinfeld in a similar manner to Sam, and I've been toying with the idea that while Barry stalks BB and Hailee on goofier adventures out of the base, or wherever she's hanging out, Frenzy can gain intelligence as an insider like Soundwave did in G1 after being accidentally picked up in an 80's boombox form early on in the movie. The fight with Barricade would end in Bee getting his ass kicked and be left temporarily incapacitated (maybe Barry's wheel-saw or first-movie game cannon shared through all platforms could be used to great effect) but Steinfeld using some of her tools or something to scare off Frenzy. Here's where this whole idea becomes a little different than what I'm expecting will actually happen, but I think it would be really cool. Barricade should use some technology, God knows how, but use something to extract a bit of knowledge regarding Archibald Witwicky, the Glasses, the Cube, Megatron, etc and then leave Bee to rot, believing him to be critically injured.Barricade would then speak to Steinfeld (optimally in a voice most similar to that in TF5 but with the MV1 vocal reverb to fit the more calm tone, especially when compared to stuff like "ARE YOU EBAY USERNAME LADIESMAN217?!?'), and begin to tell off Bee and the Autobots as cowards, lying about their intentions with the Allspark to try and persuade her that her new-found friend wasn't only a stoic, remorseless soldier, but a guy working for the morally unjust side. He'd go on for a bit, with Frenzy possibly poking at Bee for some relief, and the monologue would end when he lets loose a Freudian slip and accidentally begins to describe the Decepticons' plan as it is when asked by Hailee (who he's keeping alive because he doesn't want to arise the suspicion that Transformers exist and assumes that she'll be told off like Archibald), which cements her stand with Bee right before he gets up, flicks Frenzy, and beats Barricade up hard enough that he just retreats, as he is known to. Bee doesn't pursue him, as he'd rather not face the current Decepticon line-up on Earth single-handedly. In order to protect Hailee, he leaves, emotional goodbye, etc...but the pre/mid/post credit scene could show Barricade reporting to Starscream and possibly a few nameless genericons (like with Africa in DotM), telling them of the knowledge acquired from Bumblebee, and have a bit of Decepticon banter (Starscream sounding unwilling to resurrect Megatron, Starscream grilling Barry and stating that other Autobots may come 'soon'), and Starscream contacting Decepticons across the world to begin a search, which could include him sidelining the TF5 guys, for a nice Easter egg. What do you all think?

I would like for the Bee movie to be a new start for the post-Bayverse era. As poorly as TLK did at the box office (tho I thought it was one of the better Bayverse films), I would hope that would spur Paramount and Hasbro to take a much different approach to future Transformers movies.

I would love to see the Bee movie not have a damn thing to do with the 5 Bayverse movies. Let it be the starting point for Transformers films, with focus on the Transformers, an actual coherent storyline, Cybertronian backstories, as much focus on other Bots and Cons as there has been on Prime and Bee, fewer human characters, more scenes on Cybertron and less on Earth. Just better stories and films.

I'm not even sure why/how the Bumblebee movie is in the existing canon.

Always wondered if there is a reason why Bumblebee always seemed to keep Barricade alive, but killed his other foes? Do you think they were friends once?

I didn't say anything was preventing it from being canon. What I did say was I wasn't sure how/why the movie would fit into the canon. And the reason I said that is because given what we've seen from the existing canon, it's hard to imagine Bumblebee tooling around with a young adult in the 1980's. There are a lot of gaps to fill in his story, and the existing movies don't exact present an easy way to fill that gap.

How is it hard to imagine? I honestly don't understand.

Well, Bumblebee has been shown during WWII fighting for the Allied Forces, and then 60 years later, he is shown coming out of hiding/returning to Earth to assist in the search for the Cube. Whatever the reason for him to come out of hiding (or return to Earth and leave) during the 80's, it must be significant enough for him to choose to do so, but also has to be insignificant enough for it not to be some huge event/battle that would have drawn attention.

Can it be done? Sure. But after 5 movies of a very shoddy canon, the filmmakers have a massive challenge ahead of them to make this particular and specific story fit into it. And I don't see it making a whole lot of sense.

The whole "search for the Cube" thing is really going to come back to bite them. The Cube was easily detectable to their sensors until the 1930s when the dam was built around it. So Bumblebee came to Earth right after the Cube became difficult to find, and then spent the next seventy years looking for it? And never once crossed paths with a Seeker who probably knew where it was (but didn't care because recovering it wasn't what they were here for)? :sly2:

Yes - this exactly. They dug a hole that I don't think they can get out of.

Oh, you're vastly underestimating the absurd lengths some turbo fans go to to justify, "explain" and defend this shitty writing and every canyon sized plot/continuity hole it creates per each new movie.

Continuity in these films is barely existent as it is. Bay's films are such a mess that I honestly don't care if this one (and any other films going forward) ignores events from them if it makes for a better story.

Which is why I was stressing so hard that they needed to use Bees movie as a hard reboot and just start over. Can still use the current movie TFs looks ansnor still change up the looks a bit to freshen it up. But start all over with the "girl and her car" and just fucking make it all make sense going forward and have a plan of where it's all going and what the back story is.

This making it all up as you go, one movie at a time isn't going to keep a "universe" going. All of Marvels movies may not be "great" but at least there is continuity and a far reaching story/plot and they make the attempt to tie things together and tie things up when they are done with that part of the plot.

I'm hyped for this movie. I just hope Bumblebee still had an actual fucking voice in the 80's.
