The 1986 Transformers movie was Peter's best voice performance in my opinion. Prime showed so much emotion when he was critically injured just before Megatron was about to deliver the final blow and also in the death of optimus prime scene, I can tell that there was emotion in that scene too as Prime was dying.

    AOE probably
TLK his meeting with Quintessa. Peter Cullen's delivery with "What have you done to my home." broke my heart.
DOTM Time to find out has so much disgust, anger, and pain. As does "We will kill them all."

    AOE, easily.

One of the many reasons I dislike TLK is the fact that Cullen/Optimus is so flat and typical after the real character he had to his voice and performance last film.

There are many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many, many things wrong with AOE, but Cullen as Optimus was not one of them. While I'm more sentimental towards the first movie myself, I'm inclined to say that AOE might actually be one of his all time greatest performances. He was actually able to convey some actual humanity and expression through his voice for once; and really made you feel for him. Seeing Optimus in his broken state in the opening of AOE, and later when he storms KSI, those scenes contain the emotion that was sorely lacking in the previous two films, as well as Prime. Too bad the rest of the film was naff.

On the contrary, his performance in TLK might be the absolute worst in his career. Every single line is either monotone or "GRR OPTIMUS SMASH!" (As both Optimus and Nemesis, btw.) I'm not convinced Cullen was at the recording booth for more than an hour. If i were to judge Cullen as a voice actor from TLK alone, I'd wonder why anyone would hire him at all. On the other hand if i were to judge off AOE alone, I'd wonder why he wasn't getting more work.

Then again, Optimus is barely in TLK and when he is his character is handled extremely sloppily, so I'm thus led to believe it's more the writer/director's fault than the actor's.

AOE. He showed so much emotion, pain, and loss just with his voice.

    "Theyre NOT your property!!!"
    "They were my friends..."

That line Just breaks my heart

He's like that because he didnt do anything in the Last Knight. Optimus' role was he is there. That was it. Even Nemesis Prime was dull.

Those are my thoughts as well. Peter is always perfect, I could listen to everything if told by him.

I love his performances in the 1985 film, DotM, and AoE. But if were to pick one it would have to be AoE. It was my all time favorite character writing with Optimus Prime, seeing someone broken by the constant tragedies of war and betrayal and come to remember why he fought to protect humanity in the first place.

TLK I was the most disappointed with Optimus, he just came off as bland. The only moments that stuck out to me was where he was willingly accepting death as punishment and of course the "Did you forget who I am?"

I don't think Peter Cullen didn't have that much fun with that performance considering most of Optimus' screentime is dedicated toward his time as Nemesis Prime. Optimus really doesn't get to shine until the final act, aka the more enjoyable part of the film.

Well shite... AOE might be the most emotionally conveyed performance.

I'm still waiting for a TF movie in which Peter and Frank both get to shine.

all of them. To be honest, I would not have been receptive to the Transformers live action movie if Peter Cullen wasn't the voice of Optimus Prime.

Personally I feel like ROTF and DOTM sounded best. I don't know if they used some kind of filter or something, but I liked how his voice sounded so smooth. In AOE and TLK it still sounds great, but for me, it sounds a tiny bit off... (BTW, I think al voices sound great and I totally respect Peter Cullen, but I like his ROTF and DOTM voice best:) )
