I'm sure there could have been other forms of complimenting a person besides how it played out in the movie. But oh well

 

Honestly she was one of my favorite things about the movie. Good backstory, the "feminism" angle wasn't shoved down our throats like Rey (I am a feminist but that doesn't mean I'll excuse shitty writing), and Moner can fucking act. I didn't know or care about Canopy but damn it the way she reacts to his death sold me on their friendship. A shame she's entirely fucking useless and does NOTHING throughout the movie.

 

I didn't really mind her tbh, she didn't play a really big role at all.

 

I'd like to say, from a writer's standpoint, that every story is made better, when it has an anchor in the real world.

Izabella in TLK, serves two purposes. Firstly, her character is introduced, for possible future sequels. Perhaps there is more we can learn about her, and she can grow, and have a purpose/destination in the following stories.

Secondly, Izabella with Canopy, and later with Cade gives the film an emotional charge, she cares about both of them (Cade becomes her family later in the film, and replaces Canopy).

The main reason for the above is to sell the believability of the Transformers, within the TLK story. We get to care about a dying Transformer, and so we buy into it. Furthermore, Izzy's newfound connection to Cade, whose character is all about the welfare of the Autobots, and her joining him in his mission only strenghtens this point.

In summary, I want to add that I like the way her character is portrayed by Moner, as she is believable, and her role fulfills an important aspect of the film (gives weight to the fictional robots).

 

She was fine...except when Bay had her remove her white shirt for what ever reason and do a slow-motion run with her and the other kids as her kid boobs jostled around. The kid is 14 in the movie for Pete's sake. Does Bay have to over-sexualize EVERY female that is in the movie, regardless of age? Seriously, if I was a studio exec and I saw that made it to the final cut, I'd tell my director to GTFO!

I hate to break it to you, but she's already posted provocative selfies all over twitter. That's the new generation for you.

 

Enjoyable character, good performance, but horribly underutilized. It would have been nice to have her in more of the movie.

 

Doesn't matter. What she does with herself and what someone else does with her are two different things. What I saw felt on the cusp of child sexual exploitation. Yuck!

 

I know, I'm telling you she's already okay with exploiting herself. Sad, but true.
