Imdb also stated that we will got extended bluray edition..maybe is true because the movie cutting seems kind of rush...even if really got 40 minutes it will mostly feature human scenes, robots battle scene is unlikely because they won't add any CGI that will cost more to the movie.
IMDb is a user edited website like Wikipedia. Anyone could of posted tech specs or info on the page so don't treat any of that stuff as fact. Bay has no history of releasing a directors or extended cut of his films so it would be a first if he went through with it. I can't imagine he would though, the biggest criticisms of DotM and AoE were the films being too long so for Bay to then release a version of TLK that's in the same ballpark with duration like those two films would probably not lead to more sales for the film on blu-ray/dvd/digital.
I truly hope for extra footage, but have mixed feelings about it. Will extended cut be made? NO, because previous movies didn't have extended cuts. YES, because: - I think now Paramount needs more to convince people to buy Bluray disc and earn more money, - we all know that some money shots were taken (e.g. in Newcastle) and were not in theatrical cut.
Where's that post from (not familiar with most social media sites) and can we trust what that account says? Edit: Wait, please tell me "the.tf.life" isn't the name of the site.
He mentions the scenes which were cut, including a megatron and prime backstory. Those scenes are that we know of, there may be more full cgi scenes done
40 minutes of extra footage? Or 20 actual minutes but in Bays "cutting edge" slow motion action sequence style?
Actually, we do have a previous TF film that had an extended cut. ROTF Big Screen Edition, a Walmart exclusive.
Again, there was no promised Optimus and Megatron backstory. People misintepreted an interview weherein they talked about the pre-established origin story from other media. Secondly, while we know that some scenes were filmed but never in the actual movie, these scenes which featured such things as Optimus in Chicago and Crosshairs in England simple had nowhere to go. It's pretty obvious at this point that they film carchases without actually having any planned use for them and scrapping them if one doesn't present itself. So no, I don't thing there'll be an extended edition because I don't think there's anything significant that wasn't shown.
