Okay, the moderators said to assume all threads have spoilers in them, so there wasn't a need to post it in the title. As such have a question that maybe you all can answer beyond "plot armor."

WHY? Just why is Bumblebee able to pull himself back together after being shot apart?

So many transformers have been torn apart or decapitated and declared offline in the movies, yet somehow some way Bee survives this and even fight in that torn apart form.

WHY? We clearly see in the movie that decapitating works when the other Autobots kill.... whatever that Decepticons name is. I dunno the new Decpticons came and went so fast in the movie. Point is it killed him.

Yet we also see in this movie Starscream's head being butted around, yet did he get back together after getting his head blown off? No...

So why? What is the explanation for this inconsistency? It's driving me nuts.

I'm pretty sure the only reason Bee has this new "ability" is because someone thought it would make for a kickass scene. And honestly that scene with TRF was very well done in my opinion.

But yea it is a very WTF moment.

I assume it has to do with transformium, it's a better version of the cube transformation from AOE and I wish they had used this one in AOE instead.
But it's interesting since bee isn't the only transformer to survive being blown apart. As we see that Mohawk is also blown apart but he survives and we have seen other characters reattach limbs before.

The way I would explain it is by comparing it to a transformers toy, you can take them apart at the joints and put them back together but if you break them anywhere else you can't put it back together.

At this point, I'd say the explanation is "because, why not?" Iron Man can do it, why not Bee?
It made no sense and they didn't even try to explain it.

Maybe someone was given a Bumblebee ContructBot toy and figured to work it in.

I'm just glad they dropped the Transformium idea and didn't have Decepticons transform by breaking into thousands of little cubes and reform in alt mode.

You ask Mohawk, Frenzy, and Megatron that same question.

Perhaps some bots have sparks located in their head and others have them located elsewhere? According to this concept art, that's how Megatron survived:

I thought it was pretty clear that Cade Yeager helped him with this ability. He can repair and help reassemble them.

well, that's a heavy implication, but id tend to agree, i just wish they expounded on that, even a simple sentence could have fixed all of this

There was just no need for it. Think of some other way to show Cade and Bee taking on the TRF. I would've hated that ability even if it was given an explanation.

If he can do that, then what the hell was that sh#t when he got his legs blown off in TF1?

    Pretty much this.

Also, we don't see any wires or circuits ripped out when he falls apart. He just sort of detaches his body parts. Compare that with Jazz, who you see wires sticking out of, or Megatron, whose spine is ripped out along with his head. Besides, I do actually like that some Transformers have unique powers again, like in G1. Bumblebee can reattach parts, Hot Rod can slow down time around an enemy... It just feels more creative and interesting.

Well, that seems to be the best theory so far. But somehow, I doubt that Bay and his writers thought that deeply. Deep really isn't what Bay does. That's why he's reinvented the origin of transformers two times now rather then continue to build on the origins he's already made... But maybe. Just maybe there's this nugget of deepness. Thanks for the ray of hope.
