RedLetterMedia goes in-depth into TF5, with a review that both criticises and analyses the movie and it's failings. This is easily the best video review made about this movie so far and I highly reconmmend it.

Are Mike and Jay dead? Have the Canadians finally killed them? Will we get a Nerd Crew Plinkett review about the movie in two one days?

    Edit: I CALLED IT. KINDA.

RLM has gone way downhill recently. Off the top of my head, one thing that was strange was that they go ahead and praise Star Wars Episode VII (the most creatively bankrupt Star Wars movie yet), yet shit on Rogue One for doing the same things it did (even though, arguably, it did the whole fanservice thing much better and it actually made sense to have all that fan-service, given where it was set in the continuity). Their Half in the Bag stuff is decidedly half-assed, especially since they sometimes get obvious plot points wrong about whatever film they're talking about (I think the last one of those I watched right through was their discussion for Independence Day: Resurgence, and for some reason they thought it was better than the original movie. Somehow). You also can't have a reasonable discussion about the Star Wars prequels in a lot of places without some moron chiming in with the Plinkett reviews and being like "oh this is why the movies are terrible and they're totally right about it you can't argue with this lol". Tiresome, really.

What gets me the most is the RLM fanbase, comprised mostly of drones who nod their heads and praise their opinions on film as some kind of gospel. It's worrying that so many people can seemingly be so bereft of independent thought. And these latest videos of theirs just add to the overwhelming and tiresome negativity surrounding these films. I don't think any one movie or director deserves this level of hate. If Ed Wood was still alive and making movies today, he'd likely be getting less shit than Michael Bay.

The first time they did it, it was funny.

But the same joke three times in a row? Ehhhh.... I get it, guys. I actually wish they'd do a real review because if any TF movie deserves it, it's this one.

No they haven't. You just say that because they have opinions that differ from yours. None of your arguements are anything beyond "they like/dislike something I dislike/like" which, sorry, isn't an example of going "downhill."

Also, nice one chiming in with "their fans can't think for themselves." Wouldn't be a token frustrated fan post without that demeaning potshot. I'm sure the same could be said for you, me, or anyone who likes anything, actually.

These "critics" think they're funny. They're not. I mean, even if you objectively look at their "joke" videos, they're not funny. It's just... fucking stupid.

I mean, if you "objectively" looked at their videos you'd see they're not critics. They're just a bunch of guys who watch movies and talk about them.

I think we've hit the point where critic hate is so rampant and unwarranted, anyone who dislikes the movie are "critics" and must be lambasted.

The first time it was pretty funny, second time not so much, and the third time was just unnecessary. They should have stopped at the last one, hell, leave it at the first trilogy and it would have still been a decent enough franchise.
    OH I GET IT!
Seriously, I get the joke, but it isn't funny anymore. It's pointless to criticize the movie for being lazy and repetitive by being lazy and repetitive. Just say it straight out. Still, I do enjoy RLM as a whole. Their fanbase? Not so much.

Would you say, they went too far? You think they may have gone too far in a few places? That it's stylistically designed to be that way?

The only thing here that's funny is people like you who are seriously unable to take a joke.

And even if you didn't find it funny(which i can understand), the video itself, joke aside, is actually a review of the movie. Again, were you really unable to understand that?

I'd love it if they did the same shtick again; and for the 4th or 5th time they actually reviewed the movie for real.
I mean, they probably won't seeing how they clearly think all these movies are the exact same, but still I'd like to see them go all out like they did with Rogue One (to think some people thought they went overboard with that one).

Meh, how about an RLM gif instead?

It's like poetry, it rhymes. Every video rhymes with the last one. It's so dense, every single frame has so many things going on. The Transformers are the key to all of this. If we can get the Transformers working, cause they're funnier characters than we've ever had before. Hopefully it'll work. It's gonna be great.

I don't recall actually saying I outright LIKED any of the movies I mentioned in my previous post. I was highlighting their inconsistent, sometimes contradictory views on similar movies, for starters, and the fact that their Plinkett reviews have essentially killed any reasonable discussion about the movies they've reviewed BECAUSE of their fanboys. And have you read through a comments section on one of their review videos? It's pretty much a circle-jerk (same goes for a lot of Youtube "celebrities", actually). Sorry if I demeaned you for pointing that out.

So, if anything, it's the fanbase that's the foremost problem. Then again, you strike me as someone who's part of it, so arguing with you will be a waste of time (just like Internet arguments in general). Still, if you want to get caught up in a pointless back and forth because we have different opinions, feel free to have another dig at this "frustrated token fan".

I fully expect them to do this a fourth and fifth time just to drive the meta reference home.
