Is the headmaster gimmick becoming tiresome?

Looking forward to heads that stay on in transformation. If they are still head masters that's cool

Pretty much every single transformer is made with the intention of being repainted at least once. I think that TR has done a good job of not making most of the figures straight repaints and for the repaints to make some sense. All of the wave 5 figures have at least some retooling.

Nope, what is tiring is knowing that they won't finish ALL the G1 Headmasters in this line before it evaporates. If we're REALLY lucky, we'll see them hit during Power of the Primes.

The helmet over the headmaster gimmick on Voyager/Leader figures was tired right out of the gate. I passed on every one of them because of it.

That would be the best scenario. In that case you could leave the head on forever and live happily ever after.
And if you actually like playing with or displaying the titanmaster you are free to do so aswell.

I take it that some guys want a figure to pilot the vehicles, but I don't get that, I mean a Transformer should be able to controll themselves in any mode without a "pilot".

Yeah. I can't even imagine how awesome Titans Return Galvatron would have been had they omitted the flip-out-mask-over-titanmaster and tripple changer gimmicks.

My first Transformers were headmasters when I was a kid. Since I could not understand english back then, to me the little robots always were the actual robot and the body basically a transtector. I think that's cool. That way the robot could also better interact with humans. What better way to be in disguise among humans?

That's a cool head canon you had going on back then.

So from CW were missing Predaking and Abominus while in TR we're missing ApeFace and Snapdragon. Those are the big names missing right?

NOPE. I would take another 4 waves of Headmasters. Love the designs, love the play patterns, love the character choices. This has been my favorite year of Transformers since 2010.
I mean, we could still use full deluxe figures of all of the HM Jrs, plus characters from the Unicron Trilogy that were Headmasters in all but name...
    • Sideways
    • Overload
    • Siren
    • Nightbeat
    • Hosehead
    • Fangry
    • Squeezeplay
    • Horri-Bull
    • Minerva
Additionally since they've been cramming Powermasters, Targetmasters, and Actionmasters into this line there's some other outliers that haven't had a figure yet:
    • Slapdash
    • Joyride
    • Needlenose
    • Mainframe
    • Take-Off
    • Charger
    • ...you get the point.

Nope. I think they're a lot of fun and this is one of the best toylines we've had in a while.

Best Transformers toyline in forever. My hope is that PotP continues the playstyle somehow, someway.

I watched Transformers in the 80's on pirated satelite TV, I loved The Transformers on "Fun Factory" even though I like yourself couldn't make heads or tails of the dialouge.

I never bought into the disguise-part, I mean once humans have seen a perticular group of cars transform into robots, that disguise is pretty much blown forever.
After the first reveal a red Kenworth K100 cab over and a yellow vw beetle could never cruise along together without suspicion.

I think Combiner Wars and Titans Return have been the best thing since G1. I would love to see both these lines continued into the third instalment of the toyline, I just don't see why a good gimmick must be scrapped in favor for another one.

Yep. I prefer my TFs to be autonomous and not need pilots. I thought that was the whole point. I want Power of the Primes to give us more combiners who are not also Titanmasters.

It'll be tiresome ONLY AFTER Snapdragon, a real Apeface (Not that tiny loser) and Scorponok are released!

    Then whatever....

The repaints haven't been nearly as frequent at CW so, no.

Repaints are gonna happen. Get used to it.
