Correct me if I'm wrong guys, but did you notice megatron had the same red mark on his face that Prime had when he was brainwashed? I think quintessa came upon galvatron between movies and did like a reverse unicron and turned him into knight megatron

I RETUUURNED!!! Hug you, my fellow TFW! All my beloved ones are ALIVE!!! That's the most important!!! But the Movie itself has a big bunch of problems. Can't say that I'm totally happy as I'm usually when returning. But can't say that I'm 100% frustrated. 50%:50% Against the background of other films TLK is definitely looks worse.
The first act was good, but not entirely. The second (with all this Cade-Vivien nonsence) was awful, almost haven't TFs! The third was good, but again not entirely. Visually the Film is awesome!!! That's obviously a Michael Bay's merit! But - yeah I will say it directly - EXTREMELY POOR SCRIPT. I'm shocked by it's amateurish level! Our forum has much better ideas! Continuity is just ruined:cry  Those shitty screenwriters promised to tie everything together but instead of it they just trampled 10-years Movies' lore:cry :cry :cry  Where is pink-fleshy Creators? Why the Knights are on the Earth - they mostly was captured by Lockdown! Where is KSI? How Galvatron became Megatron again? Why Bumblebee was in WWII if he arrived to Earth only in 2007 after a long searching of the Allspark with other Autobots? Cybertron was completely destroyed in DOTM etc, etc. I have a feeling that screenwriters watched G1, but haven't watched previous Movies AT ALL!
Another problem - atmosphere. Remember how people cried: "TFs went dark!" After seeing the first posters? I would say that AOE and DOTM and even ROTF were much DARKER, more serious, more heavy. TF5 on their background looks like a comedy. Where is all AOE mysticism? I was expecting flashback how Creators built the Knights in melted metal, how they cruelly turned them slaves... instead of it we got Quintessa, without any prehistory. Just got, as a spam letter. Yeah many dialogs are very, very weak. They was hoping that adding few legendary words they will save everything.
Another VERY BIG problem - total absence of psychologism! The Movie just haven't complicated dramatic scenes of humans and Autobots talking to each other (remember the scene on the graveyard in ROTF, the scenes in destroyed NEST base and on Canaveral in DOTM, finally the scene in Autobot's ship flying to China in AOE and others). TF5 haven't such deep dramatic scenes (where humans and Autobots are painfully trying to understand each other) at all!
Poor conceptual work - most of new TFs are just generic, with heads and bodies which we already have seen. Only Megatron and Barricade have good look. Bumblebee in new form is also very nice! Megatron's crew is just ridiculous, they're similar to stupid cons from RID. Three headed dragon was gorgeous, but what it did?*sigh
Yeah, TOO MUCH cartoon, these RID references are annoying! Jerodd Carmicael's shirt, junkyard chaos, Grimlock from legendary mighty warrior turns to comic character. And yeah, that's totally unnecessary shit with Quintessa and Unicron. Too much StarWars. Cogman is C3PO, Squeeks is R2D2. Obviously. Those flying drones are just copying Empire's spacefighters. Transformers MOVIES have their own distinctive unique spirit without StarWars, RID or G1.
Character development. Cade sometimes looks silly, sometimes not bad, but unconvincingly. Vivien is the same. I'm only enjoyed Izabella! Oh that's an incredible girl! Thank you miss Moner!!! You and all the Autobots just saved the day!!!!! I'm very sad, because we almost haven't Lennox and absolutely haven't Epps (although they promised!) I was expecting to see a conflict between Cade and Lennox, but it was very weak. Even Cabrera's character was more interesting.
Positive! So much development for Dirty Foursome! Haha, I just adore them! But still in most of scenes all Autobots look not very sincere, dialogs sometimes are poor.
If you're looking for a cause of the chaos, think what the new people we've got. Yeah, Akiva Goldsman and screenwriters company. You all was blaming Ehren Kruger, but you absolutely didn't understand that the one old screen writer, who knows Transformers as his own five fingers, is much better than the new one even Oscar winner. Also obviously Hasbro had much more influence to the Movie, because their own TF cartoons are going bad! Now I understand why Michael Bay was so dark, when I've seen him on set, and why he so want not to be a director - he's just tired to fight with all the pressure from companies! No epicness, no drama, no psychologism. Amazing visual appearance. But It's very hard to recognize TFs style at all! It's very sad I hope they will stop to produce TF-Movies to avoid further problems. Thanks God, the final is good!

This was definitely the most enjoyable of the movies since #1. DotM would be the best if it weren't for the fact that there were large sections of the film that I feel are garbage.

Why was it great? Because most everything served to move the plot forward, even if the plot was overblown, and almost EVERY scene had robots in it! Made even the throwaway scenes much more fun since there were almost no scenes where there wasn't something visually interesting to see. That was my main complaint with a lot of the other TF films.

At this point all I want to see is cool robots and this movie delivered, plus a decent storyline which is something AOE didn't have at ALL.

I really enjoyed it. I'd rank it below AOE and DOTM, but better than TF1 and ROTF. I do hope we get an extended cut, though. Feels like it's missing something.

So I finally saw it and all I can say is... Holy balls was that a fun time! No like seriously I LOVE this movie.

    Things I liked?
Well firstly I LOVED the whole Junkyard sequence. I seriously want my own baby Dinobots oh my is Baby Slug so cute!

Cogman was the best character in the entire movie, no contest

I wanted to see more Hot Rod but from what I saw I really liked him and I don't why but I briefly got a Lumiere (from Beauty & the Beast) vibe from him

The Cons were great, wish i got to see more of Onslaught, Mohawk, & Nitro Zeus

The only thing I didn't like was the lack of TFs on the screen that wasn't Bee or Cogman but what little we did see of them even it out for me.

Overall got to give it a 8/10 and it ties with AOE as my favorite in the series.

For the most part I think the movie was decent. Definitely better than AoE and RotF with far fewer issues. Though the Decpticons don't get enough screen time and Onslaught does absolutely nothing plus they all die except Megs and Barricade (but atleast they all get named even Infernocus). Bee's Martha-esque moment was kinda dumb but they do tie in a surprising amount of ideas and lore. Cogman was great and it even made me like Hot Rod. My only leftover question is where was Drift at the end?

Just watched TLK in the theatre last knight, might be a little late, but here's my reaction.
    Heavy spoilers ahead.

First of all, I got to say it's not that bad, just tried to put too much things in one movie, which makes the story a rush.

Most human characters are enjoyable, and I do like the feeling between Cade and Vivian. Almost cried when Cade called Tessa, and when Burton die...

Burton mentioned that Bee was called ZB7 during WWII, and people are afraid of him, so...maybe he over killed or did something extremely terrible back there?

Cogman is totally cute, comparing to Sqweeks who is not cute at all. Gee, that chihuahua guy is horrible. We have baby Dinos already, why do they have to creat another character as mascot?

Prime and cons need more screen time really. And they just won't explain why Bee can reattach himself together?

That uh, sure was a movie. To me it just seemed like some weird, drunken mashup of DOTM and AOE. I have so many plot questions I don't know where to begin. I wish the personality and banter we saw from the Decepticons team here was in the previous movies attached to Decepticon characters we know and love. I was really irritated by the reuse of bot models. Leadfoot's head on Topspin's body? Like, what even is that.

Since when did BB have the ability to get blasted apart and then reattach again?

Technicallthe was never blasted apart. He fell apart of his own accord (mini guns are powerful, but not exploding a transformer powerful). And was thenable to control his parts remotely. An ability that dates back to the g1 episode "city of steel".

TLK was really enjoyable for me. The story was solid, the pacing was fast, but after a bunch of super long, slow TF movies it was refreshing. The humor was actually good! I think the tone was all wrong though. Some scenes I became absorbed in I was ripped out of by a small error or a complete shift to something else. The Transformers were good.. But fucking Onslaught and Dreadbot! People were actually not exaggerating ENOUGH about how fast those two die! Mohawk's screen time was what I expected for all of them.. I was disappointed to see the other two go so fast but I was happy to see Nitro go so long. Overall, I'd rank the movies from best to worst, 1 5 3 2 4.

I saw the movie again, and I'm still not entirely sure dreadbot is dead. Grimlock picks him up and the camera immediately pans away. Mohawk is definitely still alive, albeit as a severed head. And I'm sill not entirely convinced nitro wasn't still flailing around after bee shot him...though he was definitely missing part of his face...

I do hope these Cons return. If Nitro did die that was lame as all hell. It wasn't even the center of the shot. I also hope Berserker is let out as a last resort in a later film.

Yes! Yes! Yes! This is what I have thought all along! I think of all of the writers Kruger actually adapted Transformers to the big screen best. He knew what the brand actually is, he was the most creative in terms of story and theme, and he tied things together nicely in the movies he alone wrote. He took the films in interesting directions and did interesting things with its characters.

I enjoyed TLK as a Transformers fan, but I would have likely enjoyed a Kruger-written continuation of the Knights, Creators, Galvatron, and company more. It would have followed AOE more logically I think. Did the new writers even watch AOE at all or read its script? I know many fans don't like Kruger's work, but I greatly prefer it to that of his predecessors or successors (so far).

It's a miracle how they even managed to nab Berserker. Would have been nice though if he was able to break free, and somehow catch up to Megs

I just finished watching the movie and I got to say wtf!! That movie was the worst out of all the series. Half the time I couldn't tell what was happening plot wise. Plus the ending was just meh. Why did they take off their parachutes? They couldive run with that on and the whole falling to your death scene could have been avoided. Also again the movie focused on humans more than on the Transformers.

Also just wanna say, I actually liked the plot of this film. Most people have been saying you need to watch it twice. I got it all in one viewing and I even appreciated how some details were mentioned or simply implied instead of directly shown and adding to the runtime. That was nice.

Damn... I just plain didn't like this one.

For years before the first one came out I always said if they make a live action TF movie I wanted Bay to do it because his action and car chase scenes were the best, then when he said he initially turned it down, isn't a fan, doesn't even like Transformers, and other things, plus seeing some of the designs, I was sure it'd suck. Actually ended up liking the first movie overall though.

I thought ROTF had some awesome robot battle scenes but it was a total mess, and I didn't like it for lots of reasons.

DOTM fully restored all my hope for the movies. It was far from perfect, but I really liked it.

AoE is where it seemed things were going down the wrong path, too far from what I felt Transformers was supposed to be with swirling particle transformations, knights, and other things, yet some of the new designs were real cool. I barely liked it more than ROTF, and kind of stopped caring much about the movies not long after seeing it.

I had no excitement for this new one. You'd think low expectations would make me like it more than I did, but I still didn't like it much at all. I totally understood the confusing general story of it, but SO many things made no sense, weren't explained at all, or were suddenly written in for convenience or "cool scene" stuff. There were only 2 things about TLK I really liked. Everything about Megatron, and Bumblebee getting his voice back.
Oh, and the Cogman music part did make me laugh. So there's that.
I think my give-a-damn about this universe of Transformers is just about dead now.
I just want to see a new take on it that really feels like the Transformers I grew up with, hopefully while Cullen and Welker are still alive.

I went through like 30 pages of comments, saw a few others ask this, but never saw an answer. Why could bumblebee reassemble/repair himself almost instantly from any damage he took? I kept waiting for an explanation for it but never caught it. I miss something there?

This is exactly my ranking as well. AoE was the only one where I left the theater thinking "that movie was absolute garbage". Even RotF had some really amazing moments and to this day has some of the best action scenes in the entire series.
