HAHAHAA just saw the Angry Movie Review from above, i have also laughed :D

He says: Optimus shows up in the last 10 Minutes, and all he says "Iam Optimus Prime", "Iam Optimus Prime"

HAHAAAA...well....that is what i was waiting for in the Movie, but the Optimus Prime moments were Epic as always in my Opinion.

My gut feeling is that a lot of people are going to be let down when there's not an extended cut of this movie released.

I know that once the red pillar was destroyed by Bee and Ratchet, Cybertron started to implode as it was pulled back through the gate. To be fair, they never showed it completely destroyed.

So why exactly could Bumblebee reform himself after getting blown apart?

    Plot stupidity?

2nd viewing just ended for me, and I don't know if it's because I saw it on a bigger better IMAX screen or what, because I enjoyed the SHIT out of the film this time. I mean.... really.

It was fine, I'm glad it was better than AOE.

Sorry, this is going to be all over the place.

I'm glad they didn't have too much groan inducing humour (though it wasn't that funny).

The fight between Bee and Prime was decent, and glad that it went longer than 30 seconds (it has always annoyed me when ever there was a fight after the first one that the fights went super quick).

I wish they would have called day trader Wreck-gar.

I wish that we could have got more of a close up transformation for the 12 knights as well as whoever that was that was guarding Quintessa.

I like Bees voice, though it would be strange hearing him be all sassy with that voice in future installments.

Cog man was... Ok, a little annoying, but ok.

I can live with Hot Rod having the French accent, and I like the idea of his weapon.

John Goodman was a lot more tolerable this time around, I'm glad they used him more.

Wish Grimlock could have been at the final battle.

I'm glad that they made squeeks not annoying, I actually found him rather endearing. I'd be fine if Izzy came back, she was alright.

Kinda bummed but not surprised that 90 percent of the cons were dead in the first 45 minutes, though I did like their designs, especially Mohawk.

Wish I could have seen the design for unicron that I heard was at Anthony Hopkins office. The whole unicron thing, Im ok with it being earth, I just hope that he is actually large, and though it worked for Prime, the whole unicron coming out of the earth as many little drones thing would annoy me.

I want a toy version of WW2 bee, love that design.

In summation, I think that it is getting a little too much hate by critics, but it was a far cry from TF1 or TF3. Just glad there wasn't much product placement or that stupid pixel transforming stuff they had in AOE

Also, why does Optimus Prime after 5 movies need to remind us that his name is Optimus Prime? Does he do it because he has Alzheimer's? Like we know who you are, the paint is a dead give away!

Doesn't this movie seem like it's not a Transformers movie? This could just be a sci-fi war movie where aliens reveal themselves as taking part in earths history of wars??? I know that's the plot, but just didn't have a TF feel. Not even a bayformers feel.

It's hard to explain, but this movie is bad and not bad in the way you think it's going to be. I wish it was bad in the way a lot of people hated on the first 4(at times).

If I am channel surfing and I see the first 3 movies on I will usually watch them part 4?... meh.. not really, but maybe. But part 5? Never. I won't ever see this again. Even if you "take it for what it's worth"? It's just bad

I went into this movie with only watching the official trailers that got released. No TV Spots for me as I watched all of them for AOE and when I seen the movie I knew what was going to happen. So I went into TLK completely hyped.

    Things I loved:
    - Cinematography
    - CGI was incredible - looking forward to blu ray release and getting epic screenshots some scenes were just beautiful
    - Cogman - Had the best scenes in the movie
    - More Transformations - But felt cheated as they were just super quick ones, I miss the slow epic reveals)
    - Megatrons new look - and Frank Welker
    - End Scene - Quintessa and Unicron!

    Things I hated:
    - Izzy coming back later in the movie, I was ok with her being in the movie but I forgot about her and when she came back it disconnected me from the movie
    - Could have and should have done alot more with squeeks
    - Good cons having like 2 seconds of screentime and dying so easily that annoyed me
    - Where are the Autobots? - I feel the movie started going downhill the moment they switched to the UK - Cogman kept me hooked though.
    - Dinobots getting limited screentime
    - Felt the Movie was cut and edited alot
    - The suicide squad style decepticon reveal - hated that scene lol
    - No Bee vs Barricade fight? - got hyped when they began chase in London but to just have Barricade get shot and fall over was disappointing.
    - Little Bee kicking Optimus Primes ass for abit there but Prime can easily kill 7 cons with 1 sword swing
    - Could of easily cut 30mins out of the movie

That's just the things on top of my head. Overall I really enjoyed the movie, I didn't hate it and I don't think it deserves the hate its getting but it's a transformers film it's always going to get hate. Going for a 2nd viewing on Tuesday and will update my list if needed.

So, somehow I watched it again and almost all my issues have just... dissipated. I really have just two issues now:
    • I reallyyyyyyyyyy wanted Grimlock to do more (*cough* final battle *cough*). He was so cool eating a Decepticon, but that was it?
    • The scientist guy was not a great character. Felt too much like Bay was childishly poking fun at "nerds" and math and science.
This time around I could really sit back and appreciate some of the technical marvel. The sound mixing is tremendous, the music is beautiful, the locations they shot in were incredible and wide-ranging. But like... it's not just that.

This time around, Hopkins was marvelous and regal, when before I found him misused. The plot was... actually kind of wondrous. It felt like Indiana Jones. I actually felt a sense of world-ending dread. Cade Yeager I actually identified with... Wahlberg actually demonstrated some real emotion and I felt some real empathy. The Bee vs Optimus scene... first time around it felt like a cash-grab... this time around it smashed me in the heart as Optimus manhandled Bee with one hand, then Cade throwing himself next to Bee's face pleading up at Optimus to stop... it was freaking powerful. Waves crashing all around them like mad.

Izzy I actually found myself wanting to see more and more of. I've decided I loved her acting... she was so headstrong but acted in such a charming way. I freaking loved the little smiles she did to herself when Cade said something like calling her "little J-Lo". And Vivian... didn't have a problem with her at all either. So refreshing to have an intelligent female character.

I found myself enjoying the first half hour like I did last time, and I kept... waiting for that one scene where it started to turn. But it just... didn't. I was enthralled the whole time. Again, maybe it was because the screen this time was the full aspect ratio, where first viewing it was a really fake IMAX screen. That couldn't have been the major difference though... I think expectations were just for something totally different going in. But like... I didn't enjoy it tonight "for what it was" or anything like that... I genuinely enjoyed it. I had a blast. I'm shocked.

I might go see it a third time now. Damn.

After viewing TLK a second time, I gotta say that I enjoyed the film much much more than the first time. I honestly don't know how I didn't initially like it since it does everything that I liked from the first 4 movies and it has less moments that made me cringe or roll my eyes. Yeah there are some moments that I can see people doing just that, but I didn't really have much of a problem with the humor even in my first viewing.

However, I do agree that there is a bunch of stuff that could've and should've been cut out of the movie and other stuff should be added in the movie. And even though I like the film much more now, I don't know where to rank it amongst the other films. I don't know if I can rank it above ROTF because as bad as ROTF is, I have such fond memories of the buildup to it and how much I enjoyed it before I really thought about it. I also really dislike that I had to watch it a second time to enjoy and like the film whereas I loved all prior movies on first viewings.

I think right now, going of course off the delayed hype of the second viewing, I'd put TLK on even keel with DOTM. But I'd bump TLK past DOTM due to it being less depressing. So that'd make it my 2nd favorite of the series thus far. behind TF1..

I agree that it's frustrating that it takes multiple viewings to truly enjoy. The plot is just too messy the first time around. So much world-building out of nowhere after 4 films that had taught you what to expect.

Lack of transformation. Good plot but I was expecting Robots in Disguise to transform and roll out, not a Walhberg Die Hard and hook up story. Again, well written, not as many plot holes as previous, just lack of disguised aliens and transformation.
Emotion side, not a single moment I worried about Optimus or Bumblebee, unlike previous 4 movies. Not given a chance to feel connected and thrilled about their fates and heroic actions.
Oh, incredible 3D, I must add. Well done Mr. Bay.

I also didn't have the best experience the first time I saw the movie, but saw the movie again tonight and I was surprised how much I enjoyed it. Both times I saw it in IMAX 3D so no viewing had the edge over the other. The pacing and the story felt a lot better. I'm still not gonna let the movie off the hook for the middle portion of the film. The plot and story telling in that part of the film still aren't good but I guess it wasn't as jarring as it was on the first viewing. It was easier to absorb the story this time around. I also liked Cogman a lot more this time.

Optimus coming back is what really won me back over. He's just got some great moments in that final third and think the robot element overall worked pretty well. I also think that the overall final battle was solid. Not the best, but still entertaining. They just got find a better way to tell a story. These maguffin chases and scenes of 10 minutes of exposition just aren't the way to go. But for now, this was another entertaining Bayformers adventure for me.

    the good
    - the opening with the knights and dragonstorm
    - the autobot team dynamic and humor. All the stuff in the junkyard was fantastic.
    - Bee was awesome
    - Prime's interactions with Quintessa early on
    - Thought all the comedy in the first half worked pretty well
    - Suicide-cons
    - Daytrader
    - Hound, Drift and Crosshairs get transformations
    - All of Megatron's scenes in the first half
    - Starscream cameo (his head should've looked a lot more f#%ked up though)
    - Hot Rod was fun
    - Prime vs Bee was decent. Solid fight but could've been better. Loved the bit of Prime coming to his senses.
    - Really felt the friendship between Prime and Bee
    - The visuals for the most part delivered
    - Vivian wins the award for my new favorite lady in the Bayverse
    - Not killing off Quintessa
    - Prime's hero moments towards the end

    the bad
    - the middle of the movie is horrific. Once they get to Burton, the humor becomes terrible, the robots are completely sidelined, too much Cogman
    - I'm so damn disgusted with the plot these writers came up with for this movie
    - Lennox was kinda wasted in this movie. It was a chance to really give the character some interesting dynamics and development but other than
that part he has with Bee early on he gets noting.
    - No explanation for Megs' new form
    - The Dinobots and Wheelie go A-WALL in the second half
    - Bee's reforming ability.
    - Why the hell was Steelbane in a crashed ship?
    - Simmons saying scrotum again
    - Leadspin/Topfoot, just use f#%king Topspin
    - Once Bee got his voice back, it's hard to tell when Bee is using his voice and when he's using the radio.
    - Really dissapointed with how they used Izzy. They set her up to be a good character in the first half of the film but because of the stupid plot these writer put together,
she gets completely sidelined in the 2nd half and gets nothing to do.
    - wanted a better Prime vs Megatron fight.
    - constantly changing aspect ratios

Saw it a second time, and all my issues with it just disappeared...really allowed me to sit back, relax, and enjoy the movie when I wasn't combing over every scene for bits of info.

This may have just gone from my second favorite to number 1.

I feel this movie needs to be reviewed in two phases. 1st viewing vs 2nd viewing.

I'm not letting the movie off the hook for the storytelling in the middle portion but the plot and overall story felt a lot better on the second viewing. Not the best way to review a movie but that's just how I felt. The plot was just so baffling on the first viewing.
