I love the idea of a VW... but in a Bayverse movie? I think I might die a little inside if they stick that hideous SKELETOR face on our beloved G1 VW BB.  

 

 

I really wanted to give Bay credit for sexualizing TFs the way he did... but looking at that comic snippet... I feel like I should credit him for something else: f*cking up a good TF/sexy girl scene!   Cause I like that comic better!

Better reboot. Interest is only going to go down again after another bad movie. That's the problem with making bad movies is that eventually, even the braindead lose interest.

I hated that these movies weren't in line with G1, but neither are the Unicron trilogy or animated or most eras. Granted it's the worst universe but just think of it like this, it'll be that much sweeter if someone DOES reboot with G1 or even idw. No matter what people are gonna be pissed. Taking low blows at people for not sharing in your hate towards Bayverse is unnecessary and ugly. Sad it shall always be that way.

 

Could see that happening;

80's Bumblebee movie;
Friendship/love story movie where Bumblebee has been alone for a long time and encounters a girl who finds herself as the outcast - they become friends only to discover a Decepticon 'Pretender' invasion at her school resulting in the two teaming up to take them down.

90's Bumblebee movie;
Spy movie with Bumblebee teaming up with Hot Rod to investigate a government agency that may hold the key to them sending a signal to Optimus Prime

Early 2000's Bumblebee movie;
Bumblebee gets betrayed, loses his memories of everything and has to try and discover who he is while being on the run from a new group of Decepticons led by Starscream, we get an end credit scene where he encounters Sam Witwicky setting up Tf;2007

 

Let's hope Travis Knight can revitalize this series.

Wilder What if/possible way to bring Mikela Back. What if Mikela 'broke up with Sam' because Lord Burton sent Cogman to escourt her to safety? This would hinge on her being pregnant with Sam's child, and hidden to preserve the Witwiccan Clan.
It would explain away the character being swept under the rug so unceremoniously between ROTF and DOTM and revalidate Mikela's 'arc' in ROTF. Notice I use 'arc' very, VERY loosely.

That last theory is bit Di Vinci Code lol

 

Anyone else getting flashbacks to the Cliffjumper issue of IDW's Spotlight series?

This is not even close to the real reason.

IIRC correctly, it was largely in part to the comics spoiling the films and/or not jiving with the continuity, and just not being very profitable to begin with.

 

They've established this character for 10 years now so I say keep the face design. It'd be dumb to change it if you want the audience to care for the character they cared for 10 years prior—unless it's a reboot of course.

 

Maybe Travis will be our Last Knight.

 

Which goes to what I was saying about how the fanboy reactions of "but the comics said this!" since they couldn't deal with the fact that comics and movies are rarely actually connected no matter how much marketing says otherwise. That's been known since day one that they wouldn't line up. It's more of the reason than you think but marketing/businesses can never say something like that.

Plus yeah, the profits were low. Which is usually the main reason behind any comic staying or getting cancelled. But we really can't disregard the fact that the whining because of the comics still attributed to some of that. The comics were always going to be AU. It's something even Marvel themselves have issues with in MCU to comic spin-offs.

The complaints hindered sales of the TPBs, or any other side avenue of the comic sales as not worth getting. Which hurts sales even more. And it creates a downward market spiral to make them not worth pursuing in those areas.

Probably didn't help that they weren't all that good to begin with, but c'est la vie.
Though I am curious how an Izzie, Sqweeks, and Canopy comic prequel could do as a series or mini-series. At least if it was written well. The market seems more hungry for stories like that.

 

His head has looked basically the same no matter what his alt mode including as a 70s Camaro.. If he's a bug and just because its set in the 80s it isn't going to change that. His robot mode probably wont look much different either it will probably just have bug parts where the Camaro parts were. If he does have a huge design change I'll be surprised

 

And they bring back Isabel Lucas? Red Dawn with Transformers... I love it.
