    Absolutely agree with everything.

TLK just adds to the mess rather than tidying it up. Where's Lockdown when you need him?

There's more than one person to blame. The writers' room doesn't seem to have made a difference, especially as they still ended up squishing two stories together (though neither was as distinct as the parallel Lockdown and Galvatron storylines in AOE, which I felt worked ok. Bay seems to have lost any sense of pacing by, I'm assuming, trying to keep the length to below two and a half hours. And Hasbro forced the Knights (and Dinobots) into AOE, and this is what the writers' room has gone and expanded on.

One last Gripe of mine on this movie for this thread. If Hasbro is so invested in these movies and want to keep making Toys and want money, what happened to them getting more involved? dont they see the garbage that is coming out of these movies?

I hate to sound all corporate but strictly from a financial view...yes.

Hasbro should say before any film is written "these are the characters, these are the vehicles we can legally make toys of, these are what you're going to film and write, end of story"

Then hasbro should announce "a new canon" and release official comics, books, and cartoons that tie into the movie timeline. I am a huge Star Wars fan, they just did this and guess what? I bought every single book, comic, and watched every tv show since they did this. Use it to fix plot holes, and excite people for future films.

Transformers fans like Star Wars fans are majority completists, and would buy this shit, and it only adds to hasbro's bottom line.

Then hasbro should work with paramount and put together a "writers room" for the movies to kick off a new cinematic universe and fix....wait a minute.....

Edit: I ended with a joke but I am dead serious they need to attack more mediums in between movies I want movie verse comics, ones that count

To be honest, reading OP's rant over TLK is more entertaining than watching the movie. And that says a lot.

My ranking list is exactly the same as yours, good job :D

What happened to the days of a Decepticon lasting a whole film? They all die instantly these days and the Autobots didn't even do anything this time, it was just humans v bots I swear. Then again, it was barely even that! Just humans ferrying themselves around the world via car, helicopter, submarine, plane, running etc whilst robots stood around nearby in dust and explosions.

Im gonna rewatch the first 3 again and actually enjoy them a lot more knowing what tat came after them.

I do want to start a reboot mega thread detailing how it should all be done again properly (IMO marvel style) with each character to be used and what alt mode they should have etc etc.

    Join me? (IN EXTINCTION!!!!)

You are assuming that a toy company knows what constitutes a good movie. Their most successful media has always been episodic cartoons, not movies. Each have different rules for what allows them to succeed. Hasbro probably viewed this film through cartoon lenses and approved it.

Gripe all you want, haters, this film was great and I had loads of fun watching it, and it will still make tons of money, and the series will continue.

I'm not hating and it's my opinion. We are allowed those right? You liked it and I'm happy for you. But I didn't. And this is the first film I can say I didn't like. There were things in every film I didn't like but more that I did and felt the more likes stuff made up for the not liked. I just can't like this film. No great Decepticons, not a single epic fight. Way to much human history and didn't get any quality TF history like we were led to believe.

Seriously what happened to getting to know OP and Megs' history of who they were before what they have became now? Wasn't that something Bay and crew said we would get? Instead we got old ladies drooling over Cade, Cogman going fishing in the middle of what was shaping up to be a cool under water scene. Totally killed that scene and took me out of what I thought was one of the better scenes of the movie.

Got teased that the Sub was a TF which would have been bad ass to see, got cut. Got told how cool Cogman and his Headmaster stuff would be, got cut. Dinobot team cut in half. One half will probably never be seen again like the Twins, Jolt, Swipe and Dino. And the other half got their legendary warrior status demoted to being junk yard dogs. Yeah I think the movie sucked. Not hating, just expressing my feelings.

I just don't understand the overwhelming negativity when I saw this film and had so much fun with it. I got CHILLS watching it, that's how good it was. I smiled throughout and left smiling and feeling really satisfied and happy.

It felt like and was a proper transformers film, in that it was the closest to the cartoons. The humour was well executed. The jokes, bar one, were funny, and I and many people in the audience at the cinema laughed. I don't know why you were expecting what you say you expected, I went into this film knowing what it would be, and was satisfied, and had a lot of fun. The Decepticons were great, Megatron was amazing, and so were the Autobots. I really can't agree with what you're saying.

Don't listen to these people. This board is full of negativity, it's "cool" to hate the Transformers films now, all the critics are doing it you see, so to not look like an idiot, they have to hate on them too. :p :lolol

But seriously just go in expecting what came before, have an open mind, and you will have fun.

    Only gripe:

    I. Want. More. Megatron.

In the lead up to ROTF, I literally woke up in cold sweats from nightmares knowing that cold-hearted monster was going to murder Optimus.

Now, nothing. That was why I liked Nemesis Prime (all 2 glorious minutes we got of him) - he felt like a threat. Megatron has not killed another Transformer since Optimus in ROTF. I repeat, it has been 8 years since the Decepticon leader did fuckall on the battlefield.

If the Bayformers are to survive, the next one needs to have Megatron as the central antagonist. And he needs to go on a rampage.
