Sigh................. No, in fact I doubt we'll ever converse again.

In all honesty I was just scrolling through the pages and the mention of "Deathsaurus" caught my eye. And the last time I checked Deathsaurus wasn't a BW character. But since Hasbro has a tendency of placing any figure in any line regardless of the gimmick or initial origin, I thought it was okay to comment. It's also why I mentioned Predacon's which would likely get a remolded set that consisted of Beast War characters to satisfy EVERYBODY.

I just find it unfortunate that if I'm not strictly a fan of Optimus Primal or Cheetor, then I should leave this thread when the discussion is about and Beast Wars logo on a set that doesn't have any BW's in it. But here's the white flag, I'll continue sticking with my theories and good luck on whatever you hope the Logo means.

That comment about Deathsaurus wasn't saying it was Beast Wars. It was implying that it could be remade into dragon Megatron.

An interesting case, intentional or not.

Even in the case that this was a mistake it makes one think "Why would they have a Beast Wars logo just at the time they were printing this?". It could be possible that they're planning to use the TR beast moulds in another set and I would be very thankful for that.

    I can already imagine:

    Mindwipe/Optimus Primal
    Skullcruncher/Megalligator
    Wolfwire/Wolfang

And maybe even a few remoulds.

Good is subjective, and only is a strong word. A better statement would be, Beast Wars was the first show to be taken seriously by the writers... I enjoyed Beast Wars and most of the shows that came after it.

It will be 1 leader, 1 voyager, 1 deluxe, 1 clone, and 1 titanmaster, like the other two box sets. If they stick with just beasts, the clone will be Wingspan, the deluxe mold could be any of the three con beasts, the voyager would be Alpha Trion's, the leader would have to be Sixshot's again (I doubt they'll use it again, so a non beast character), and the titanmaster could be anyone.

Hasbro is probably just keeping the BW trademark alive. These TR box sets are limited releases aimed at collectors, who are most likely to care about BW at this point. What Hasbro will eventually do with BW next is a fun mystery. Maybe release MP Optimus Primal in the USA as a TRU exclusive? Repaint some TR figures into a BW theme for another TRU exclusive? Have an exclusive BW figure at SDCC or Hascon? Something else entirely? Enjoy the ride, folks!

Maybe this is just me, but if I were Hasbro, I'd release the BW characters in Platinum Edition sets that don't follow the other TR box set rubric but are more like the various 1986 movie sets that came out last year (Rodimus vs Galvatron, Cyclonus + Sweeps, etc). Probably need a few more beast molds (Horrorcons, Leader Deathsaurus, 'Con Headmasters Jr would all be usable if they ever come out, maybe wait another year to get beast combiner molds if Abominus and Predaking come to pass), but PE sets might be the right balance between perceived level of fandom appetite for BW (both breadth and intensity), mold re-use, etc.

Is Platinum Edition still a thing? The last release was Year of the Rooster Optimus Prime, which wasn't really available anywhere outside Walmart Canada.

Not every Transformers cartoon has the same goals or demographics in mind, and thusly they fluctuate wildly in quality (Beast Machines for example, as a result of being produced by a different team was a big let down after BW, even back during the end of the 90s) but Beast Wars is one of the most fondly remembered cartoons of the 90's for reasons beyond simple nostalgia. It is unique within the brand for being it's own sci fi story with solid characters and art style as well as acting as a gateway to the 80's stuff, and so it's a special when it gets some love. Even if all this is is a simple case of maintaining the copyright, the fact that Hasbro would bother to do so shows that somebody up in there knows the value of keeping it around.

I was thinking the other day that soundblaster and twincast could be released between titans return and power of the primes so they can get the rest of the tape minions out before they go full speed ahead with the next gimmick.
Kinda like how buzzsaw was released at the tail end of combiner wars.

If they do in fact do a Beast Wars box set, I hope it doesn't include ones that Takara has done, Convobat, MegaGator, and Leo Prime. And if they must do them again, I hope they do them in alternate colors. Like Amazon Showdown colors for Primal and Megs. And maybe Galva-Lio Convoy for Leo Prime.

Though who says they have to be beast alt modes? They could be pre-BW inspired repaints. For example, I remember seeing a pretty decent Magmatron custom using the Sky Shadow mold. Not to mention a really good Depth Charge using the Scourge mold and some other head. I think it was Apeface or something.

And do they even have to use TR molds? Could they use CW molds and we'd finally get that obvious pre-BW Maximal Combiner we should have already have gotten by now. OR, and this would be really crazy, pre-release G1 CW-style Predacons as BW Maximals! It's been heavily rumored that the next series will contain a Predaking and revisit past gimmicks like CW. Hasbro knows fans want it. So maybe they'll pull a Megatron/Blitzwing or Prime/Octane and do the repaints first.

Although, it probably is just a weird mistake. And even if there is a beast box set, it'll probably be mostly re-releases of what Takara has already done with maybe a couple new ideas to round out the box. If the Takara Ginrai/Power Magnus or whatever Hasbro called him in the other box set is any indication, that's what it'll turn out to be.

Now that's actually fair enough. I'm not trying to be a dick and enforce any kind of rules onto what one discusses. I simply found what you said to be odd in the context of what everyone else was saying, particularly what the person you were replying to was saying. It sounds like you simply didn't realize that. If taken on its own, I can see how you might not have realized that post was about BW, however, I feel a better approach would've been to admit from the start that you hadn't been following the conversation, rather than trying to claim that your post fits perfectly into the thread. Then you throw out that stuff about BW not selling that, I'll reiterate, had nothing to do with anything in my post and it starts seeming as if you're simply trying to annoy people, whether that was your intention or not.

Wait, is he saying he's blocked me? If it does then... *shrugs and walks off*

Or maybe Hasbro wants to keep the trademark alive for future Masterpiece Beast Wars releases? (Yea, on second thought, never mind).

There were at least seven PE sets released in 2015-2016 (contemporaneous w/CW and TR) that are more or less Classics/Generations molds -Clash on the Planet of Junk; One Shall Stand, One Shall Fall; Armada of Cyclonus; Rise of Rodimus; Autobot Heroes; Unicron; and CW Liokaiser. Liokaiser was the only one using molds from the current line, but the Autobot Heroes one included CW Magnus and T30 Arcee & Springer (which were rather recent when that set was released).

Regardless of what they may have done in the greater upstate New York area, this was the case in many areas of the country.
They're also the figures that got ridiculously clearanced out at BBTS.

Yeah, but what do you expect if they only focus on 1984_85 characters for the last 10 years.
Kids hardly know a beastformer can transform :p

I know about the 2016 sets. I own two of them.

I'm talking about now. If we count YotR Optimus Prime as an end-of-the-year release, there have been zero news on new Platinum set for this year. And it's June already.
