Probably possible to print off custom made cards that match the original style. Just a question of taking those design sketch scans from the Generations book, colouring them in, photoshop etc:

 

Yes! Now those two pics of Megatron and Ultra Magnus I would've much preferred to their stylised card art. Just simple and classy.

 

Yes, both would've been nice. But like you said earlier, once they started down the traditional grid and museum type card art, they should've stuck with that across the entire series.

 

Yep, definitely wanted that style of card for everything at the very least, and if TT wanted to throw in some extra stylised cards too, go for it  

Now imagine if they change the box style...

I really wished the cards had stayed uniform, just as @Maz said. I'd preferred the new artwork for the cards as a pack in miniposter in addition to the uniform cards, no in lieu of them.

 

It would definitely be annoying if they changed the box art. I've essentially folded by boxes away in storage and thrown out all the plastic clamshells, so I dont display the boxes. At least that would minimise the impact on me, but I would still hate it if they changed the box design. It's such a nice, simple, and classy design, that has essentially become iconic! Hopefully they're not silly enough to pull something like that!

 

Dang it... missed out on the MP Exhaust coins on eBay. Messaged the seller asking if they had anymore and he said they are sold out.
Should have been back to this thread more.

 

Missed out on the Exhaust coins too! Oh well, probably not willing to spend that kind of dough on the coin...yet...

Anyway, I've started to file up the MP bio cards recently and planning to do up some photos of them when I have the time. Missing a few that I've sold off earlier so it's going to be a pain to try to recover those cards...

Sure I could do something like that, I think I still have my card template somewhere, the problem is I would need to buy that book and ruin it so I could get clean scans. Plus the big hurdle for me would be finding the free time to tackle this project.

 

Yeah it's a big project, and I haven't been able to track down any design sketches of Inferno or Grapple (I was sure I saw some somewhere).

 

Well, that was quick   The word "Exhaust" on the back is just a giant sticker. Slightly bugged that it's a hair crooked, but I'm not about to risk ruining it in an attempt to make it straight. The coin itself is GORGEOUS. I can do better pictures later if requested.

 

It seems to me that the sticker indicates that these are pre-production samples. So there isn't a warehouse full of thousands of these that they destroyed. Just maybe dozens of these were made, with the design not even finalised yet.

 

Oh mate. Mate.

I need this in my life immediately.

i havent seen a second skywarp coin either
figure its prob the same coin but maybe date on the card updated

Gah fuck!!! I wish I had the King Grimlock and Exhaust coins!! Those are the two I'm missing that I wish I had.

 

accordign to someone on the seibertron forum the sticker on the back covers up the marlboro triangle point that was the original drama over the exhaust deco
that was there first attempt at a fix but then the non-japan hasbro-asia release was completly canceled anyway so the coins went nowhere
