Please leave Michael Bay. Just step down and call it a day. Go back to your other movies.

They don't even hate good. One guy doing a joke is funny. 10 guys doing the joke is sad. I weep for the lack of humor. Ball busting is an art that shouldn't be abused.

This is what I'm talking about. Sad.
I laughed out loud when I saw the first guy doing this. It was legit funny at first. Now? Sad.

    Lack. of. humor.

Back on Topic: I have a sneaking suspicion Bay will -minimum- direct the next one. How many directors can say they've directed that many movies in a franchise?

Ya know... I'm a 36 year old fan with a young son and daughter also interested in the universe a bit.... I just picked up the 4 pack on iTunes for very cheap and.... as much MONEY as these movies have made... as much as a I LOVE Transformers (lord knows my wallet will tell you)... I am very happy if he truly means he is leaving... Love them or hate them these movies could have been done MUCH better than they were.... be it the overall designs or how the movies were story wise.... Personally I look forward to something as a soft reboot or if there is a continuation like they planned something a bit more familiar to actual transformers and not the weird creations that we have here... The movies while very somewhat enjoyable (I liked 3 the best) were really poorly written and shot IMO... but... the designs of the characters is what really killed it for me... I would have been able to give the writing and acting much more of a pass if the Transformers looked like actual transformers and not xenomorphic offspring in robot modes.... Also keeping character colors (i.e. iron hide red like his special releases were) would have been a lot better off as well... I realize a lot of people like the new designs and thats fine if its your up of tea but its really hurt other ROBOT aesthetic looks in other movies since.... Hell the new Power Rangers movie is a good example.... I've seen plenty of artwork and motion 3d of "real life" transformers that i really believe would have fit the movies better and been able to make actual toys that worked.... TF4's magical pixie dust transformations really took me out of the running to see any more of these... I support the franchise in other ways but I will not support the movies anymore than I have.... I hope the best for the franchise after this and hope whatever comes next we can all agree on a little bit more....

    MB already did their job.

If other director can really end with a good movie, and if it is a success, then the franchise of movies could be in a right way.

So far he's batting .500, his odd movies have been good, even Transformer films...not so good. Maybe that means The Last Knight will be okay? I hope he steps down, and let's someone else direct for a change. Stop throwing money at him HASBRO.

That was after his 1st TF film not before. Hell, The Rock, Bad Boy's 1 and 2 and Armageddon are still some of my top action film's.

But with this franchise, he admitted that he wasn't even a real fan of Transmers and it shows. Therefore he only has himself to blame.

So here's to Bay regarding the millions he's made off the bastardizing of this franchise the way Judas regarded his 30 pieces of Silver in the end.

That's where I'm in a odd position. See, I personally don't really want a overly G1 centric film, but I recognize I'm kind of in a minority. See, even though the original 86 movie did in fact do poorly in it's time, (Partly, and perhaps ironically, due to poor advertising.) it still managed persist and cement itself in pop culture as a staple of the era. And right now there seems to be a big back lash against any comic/geek type movie being too gritty or dark. That's why films like Guardians of the Galaxy resonate so well with the mainstream. For some reason people love 70s pop...So, even if I don't like it, pandering to those sensibilities would likely be the only way to get the concept of a TF movie back in the good graces of pop culture.

Never said anyone 'deserves' anything. And if we're talking about entitlement, I've seen that in every walk of any fandom...Hell, you mention Aliens, those fan boys never seem to ever be happy.

    Fixed that for you.

The "public" thinks the films are fine. It's a small minority that would actually want such a thing.

The rest of the world doesn't even know (or care) what it is.

If that were true I wouldn't always keep running into the general opinion of "Fuck the TF movies, they're garbage." I'm sorry, you have to accept it...People don't like the Bay-former movies. It's pretty much hailed as pop culture cancer.
I'd agree that generally the public don't actually care about G1, but what the public does care about is nostalgic pandering. They eat that shit up. It's a sure fire way to win points with people in the mainstream opinion, which really is the only thing that matters at this point. Worked for Star wars.

The only thing about the movies that I like a lot is the aesthetic design of the robots... And those designs work better with the general public...

Yeah, "transformiun" was a stupid idea...

True... The fans that don't like the movies are a minority... The hardcore G1 fans especially... Oh Nostalgia...

If Hasbro wants to sell more toys why not do a hard reboot and make the bots looks completely different?

Personally I like the looks of the bots, but who needs the same BEE toy every movie?

It would be easier to make better movies without the baggage of the previous ones.

A lot of people liked Nickleback or Justin Bieber...Doesn't justify anything.

Oh, and just to clarify, cause I think there's a misunderstanding, I was a movie fan. I'd still be a movie fan if it were not for the fact that I had to wake up to the reality that they're truly garbage. Not because they're not geewon enough, but because they're genuinely bad, which only serves to highlight all the other things people don't like about them.

Yes it does! Movies are there to make money! And Nickelback isn't that bad... :p

I ENJOY the movies for what they are... "Mechanical Porn" (I am an engineer), other than that, they are very bad... :D

Ha ha ha ha ha, I will not believe it (and rejoice) until I see a Transformers movie in the theatres without his name on it. Of course I doubt I will actually see said movie, I've not seen once since the 2007 abomination, I'd need to see some extensive evidence of a change of direction...to be honest I'm not sure I'd settle for anything short of a total reboot.

That's something we really need to get past...If making money was a standard of respected quality then McDonalds would be regarded as high cuisine.

Pretty much everything is flopping these days. Transformers fans have a massive, successful franchise that's popular worldwide & they don't appreciate it one little bit. They're not happy if it crashes & burns like GI Joe & they're not happy if it's insanely successful.

You think these types of people will be happy with a reboot? Here's a hint: NOTHING WILL EVER MAKE THEM HAPPY! They'll hate a new director! They'll hate a new writer! They'll hate a reboot! They'll even hate a direct carbon copy of the G1 cartoon in live action. Haters gonna hate!

10 years straight of these hateful comments about every TF movie. Thank God Bay ignores all these miserable bastards!

I quoted another poster, I didn't say you thought you deserved anything. As far as the 1986 movie goes it did poorly because it was bad movie, not because of any lack of advertising. I love it as much as anyone else and watch it at least annually, but only for nostalgia...not because its high cinema. As far as aliens goes, them never being happy is just like this and every other fandom.

I may come across as terse, but you hit one of the main things that tend to get me to respond on this stuff, speaking in plurality on your singular opinions.

If you're gonna take high criticism into the argument you will have to do better than to pretend that people that do nothing but watch cartoons and read comic books have any cultural backbone to make an insight.

The only thing worse than low-brow is mid-brow pretentiousness. I mean look at the member up there pretending that these movies being made are comparable to biblical betrayal. Is this some kind of contest in social-unaware public embarassment? Jesus Christ people.

Anyway, about the topic, I'm glad he's leaving, feels like we've seen the same movie 5 times, ready for another try from someone with a different style.
