While I don't mind his robot mode, it's so obvious he's mainly meant for display as Ginrai's armor. Also, my copy has an issue tabbing together on one side or the other in vehicle mode - sigh. It's a cool toy, but I don't know that I'd have spent the $70 knowing now what I do about having him in hand. Not only that, I had an attachment to Ginrai as PMOP from my childhood - I had no such feelings towards Godbomber.
Despite Godbomber's flaws...the combined mode is damned cool. Makes me want PE's Ginrai replacement cab that much more.
Godbomber arrived today for me and... I really don't like him. Vehicle and robot modes are okay for what they are but the combined mode with Ginrai is an absolute mess, particularly the connections around the arms for me. He feels like a product that was half finished before Takara put their foot down and demanded they put it out the assembly line that instant or everyone is fired. The arms on mine either kept falling off Ginrai or wouldn' tab in properly enough times that I just gave up before I could set him up for display. I'm frankly shocked that he's as bad as is. The last TF that I remember being really disappointed over was Energon Slugslinger when he first came out. I was really looking forward to him but buyers remorse is now really settling in for me to the point that I just feel like flipping him for a quick buck. At least with Ginrai he feels like a mostly solid release.
You sure you're doing it right? Mine tab in completely securely. How are they falling off? Mine won't fall off even if I shake the figure violently.
As I said, the tabs in mine don't secure tightly enough. The pegs that go into Ginrai's arm have the same problem as well. They also don't secure all that tight on Godbomber either.
two connection points... the hole on the forearm and the hook from Godbomber's arms. If they are look, try adding some clear nail polish to the said parts.
I've handled two. My arms are snug. The arms on the other one were extremely loose. Almost like the pegs on that one were incorrectly sized. Really. That's perfection.
He's a way bit too top heavy for me but he'll be posed next to the original God Ginrai in the shelf, so that'll at least help keep him propped up. Other than that, this just wets my appetite for a true MP God Ginari.
So by now people are aware of the major issues with this figure: attaching arms, ankles giving out on Ginrai, floppy gun. I've got something that seems to help with that third one. First, on mine, the red piece that clips on was splayed out instead of fitting tightly. Looking carefully, the red pegs were too thick for the black holes. I did two things to address this. 1) I sanded the black holes. Being cautious I went pretty mild. The red clip fits better, but still not perfectly. 2) I heated up the red clip, and bent it back to square, then let it cool. With these two tweaks, the red clip fits more flush to the cannon, and provides a surface to rest on so it doesn't flop forward.
Great post overal, problem just is that Wotafa is fully japanese and he doesn´t show the alternate configuration for the backpack, right? I just shows it, or are able to turn on "usable" subtitles? Cause I ain´t. Out comes only english jibberjabber...
I will have a MISB godbomber for sale that I ordered from BBTS and I also ordered the gift set as well. I couldn't get a God Ginrai because the one I had preordered at a HLJ never got filled because they never got in the full amount they ordered from Takara-Tomy. So I'm just gonna sell the extra God bomber and keep the giftset. Probably won't try to get a God Ginrai now to go with that line God bomber.
