Will Moist-I mean Hoist be in the sixth movie? Or is he still relegated to roles like stunt double and coffee bot?

My favorite part of the interview was how defensive Goldner got when Battleship came up. "Look, we learned a lot in the process. Battleship came out the week after Avengers. And who knew just how big Avengers would be?" Doesn't say a word about all those other projects that failed (Jem), were cancelled (Stretch Armstrong), or got stuck in limbo (Magic, Dungeons and Dragons).

    Spam alert!

"We love Bumblebee so much we just kept the colors and completely changed everything else."

Corporate fluff not fit for print on a fan site.

How so? Because Mach Kick's a horse?
He's a Beast Wars toy. That's the point of that series.

I wouldn't half mind seeing boy!MLP figures that come with armor and weapons, or MLP crossover TFs. They already did it with Star Wars, and I don't care how big a SW fan you are some of those TFs looked asinine. I would love a world where there exists MLP figures that shellform into Mach Kick/Beast Wars-looking robots (male or female), just for the sheer whimsy of it. Also acceptable: MLPs who rise up on two legs to wield weapons, a la Thirty-Thirty from BraveStarr.

You know what might make MLP toys more appealing to boys? ARTICULATION. They have none!

My favorite color was pink when I was a wee lad, but I don't remember ever liking girl toys. They weren't appealing. It didn't take long until Ghostbusters, Ninja Turtles, GI Joe, Visionaries, Mask, Computer Warriors, Brave Starr, and years later, Beast Wars, and WWE were the toys of choice. Why? They were cool, and some still are. Kids are easily amused, and all are different, and all are raised differently. A boy with 5 sisters might find Barbie more appealing because he wants someone to play with, and if all his siblings are playing with Barbie, he might feel alone and left out. Doesn't mean he'll always like Barbie. He might even have a GI Joe figure and want to play that way, and if his sisters aren't total bitches, they'll let him. Our society has a negative reaction to seeing boys with MLP or Barbie backpacks because, for one, a large portion of the human race are bigoted, racist homophobes, but it's always been the norm to have boy toys, and girl toys. Men and woman's restrooms, clothes sections. Target wanted to get rid of the boys and girls signs at the toy section. Not sure if that meant mixing all the toys together, but if so, that would look chaotic. Organization matters. Want a transformer? Go to the action figure section. Barbie or MLP? Go to their sections. Instead of encouraging equality and inclusion, SJWs are just trying to force these things upon young kids. "You don't want that awful violent robot, have this Barbie" "I want the robot" "TAKE THE BARBIE!" Let kids choose. There are plenty of girls in the world that'll buy your ponies. Trying to make them more marketable to boys seems silly and unnecessary. They have the male ponies anyway. Barbie has Ken. They could make Ken cooler though. He's a total knob.

Is Ken a man? I wouldn't want to assume his/her/its gender...

EDIT: Oh hey, they do have some articulation...

Wait, they've actually given weapons to the ponies!? That's actually kinda awesome and hilarious. Have they been inserted into the show?

No that movie doesn't take place in ancient Rome, it just deals with Cybertronians having been involved in ancient Rome and our current cast having to travel there. You know, the same plot as the last 5 movies.

Yeah, the ultimate superhero movie, the only people who knew that was going to be colossal was...well, freakin' everybody.

Goldner only got in because he was an exec producer on the 2007 film which made a lot of bank, though how that translated to becoming CEO of a barely even related beyond owning the franchise toy company I am still unclear about. Battleship was proof that trying to recreate Transformers in something else wouldn't make up for a rush-job shit script and horrid acting. And AllSpark Pictures is Goldner's pet prized project that only has the historically bad Jem film to its name thus far, with its second entry - the Pony film - coming up in October.

Goldner knew how big Avengers was going to be. He wanted to turn Hasbro brands into the next Avengers, but he's failing miserably.

What a surprise, the Roman Pantheon were all robots from space. Whoopiee.

No, pretty sure they said it would take place there.

Edit: Indeed they did, as shown by the article linked and quoted in this thread by bellpeppers.

A step in the right direction toward gender neutral toy marketing so I applaud the idealism (even if it is couched in a toy company simply trying to maximize its profit margin and, let's face it, alienating half your target market based just on their sex probably isn't a great strategy). I expect the results of the execution will get mixed reviews though.

I do want to echo the sentiment that improved articulation would be awesome. More action figures and less static statues, would be my advice, no matter the brand.

I'm also reminded of that story not too long ago of Target eliminating gender-specific toy aisle markers, and the controversy that seemingly innocuous move prompted.
