Full Tilt is too damn purple. But nothing some black paint and RIT dye can't take care of. He will actually pretty damn good with some choice colour layout and highlights. I'm actually kinda looking forward to working on him.

It's a fabric dye that works well with plastic. I think you have to boil it with the part you're dying.

-EDIT- Apparently it no longer works on TFs?? (see further down comments)

As far as I heard, they changed the recipe years back and now RIT dye doesn't work on transformers anymore.

when I was real little, we were dirt poor. then around 84 my dad got a real good job and he bought me lots of toys, and I had jobs doing a paper route and working at a fruit market across the street from me. but yea..I know it was prolly rare for a kid to have both of those back then.

I had Omega supreme too :scalper

There's a pretty simple solution here. Just display Trypticon with Cybertron Metroplex, and all your scale worries disappear. Plus his legs won't flop around. 10 years on and you can still here Metroplex' ratchets from the other side of the house.

Now, ChErikS or Krayt, do you have Sky Shadow yet to attach to Trypticon in base mode? That actually sounds like it could look pretty neat, with the tower he creates as a battle station.

Also, can he go into Gerwalk mode?

Don't have Sky Shadow so I cannot tell you on that one.

You could possibly do a gerwalk mode, but there would be no arms due to them being locked above the legs.

Its like 11 PM at night, but someone, somewhere, wanted to know how Trypticon and Maketoy's Utopia scale

Well, I don't have Utopia, but I do have Dystopia. And the answer to how they scale?

    Trypticon towers over him

(I direly need to sticker up my poor, poor Metroplex and then I can get started on stickering up Trypticon)

I had a choice between this guy and Master Made's Diabolus-Rex, and as much as I hate to say it: I went with Diabolus Rex. He's smaller, so he's easier to store and move around, he has tons of weapon ports all over his body, and he's got nice little warning symbols and markings all over him- he's just a neater-looking little dude.

Now obviously, just like Titan Class Metroplex and Fort Max, you buy the official TR Trypticon because of the character, it's features, and all that- but also: He's a big guy. That's what sells the Titan Class products- not just what they can do or the characters they're based on, but pure size and intimidation- making a statement on the shelf. So if that's what I were looking for: Definitely, I'd pick this Trypticon up.

Yes, sometimes size matters. These are characters meant to tower other the rest of out collections and crush other bots under their feet (or eating them...).
Mekeon, as a Utopia owner, thanks for your pictures. I personally think that, while not perfect, the two are close enough that I can display them together.

Interesting. It looks like there's about the same height difference between Dystopia and Trypticon as there is with Hasbro Metroplex and Trypticon. I've no interest in sparking debate - i just find it interesting that in a thread filled with discussion about height, that the first evidence of Tryp with the smaller 3rd party offering is met with a positive reaction. My conclusion? If Trypticon were BIGGER than Metroplex, I think we'd see very little bickering. People just want their big dinosaurs to be the BIGGEST.
