I don't think that's where Megs is going. I didn't watch the show, but to me this sentence means: you get to know where it hurt to know how to strike. A simple brute won't be a good interrogator. It's like the best theif is also a security expert. But abilities and intentions are different things. "Peace through empathy" is a decision that Megatron made, a political one, not about inherent abilities.

I get that what I was suggesting was not implied at all in the story at all. Quite the opposite the panels in the issue suggested that megatron had finally found a more positive and less destructive way to rebel and encourage the powerful to be less less inclined to dominate the weak and ultimately make a better society for all through mutual understanding.

From a story point of view I'm kind of fascinated by the idea of something no matter how alteristic and good seeming to start with like the peace through empathy could be potentially eventually be pushed into something horrific if taken to extremes or applied to differing contexts.

Though unlikely to ever happen I think this could keep the integrity of megatron being both someone seeking redemption and villainous element to the story.

She'll turn out different, the memories are stored in the body. They would need a backup.

Loved the issue and thought it was a beautiful conclusion to the Megatron arc. I love how Minimus saying "get away" reminded Rodimus how desperately he wants to track down the Lost Light and spank Getaway. :lol

I was excited to see Lug get reborn and I'm curious to see how she develops. Good stuff from front to back and high fives to everyone involved in this book.

I think the chances of Skids coming back fade with each issue, but there's still those crystals Rung made, especially that first one(issue one) that seemed to be glowing an awful lot compared to the other just created crystals we've seen.

Well, if you bury your dead on a cybertronian natives cemetery, it might come back. And you probably would not like it.

There's actually debate on where memories and personality are stores in a Cybertronian. Some say Processor, some say spark. I tend to lean towards the spark. Otherwise, the whole "body tourism" thing wouldn't have worked.

So we found a continuity error. How else could they have resurrected Ironhide with a backup then?

I was actually just reading about that on the wiki after the point was brought up. According to what's written there, it seems like memories are stored in both the body and the spark. Ironhide's spark was "disrupted" by a nearly fatal injury, causing spark-based memory to stop at that point until he was resurrected. Meanwhile, his body continued to store memories until his short-lived death.

At least, that's my understanding based on a cursory reading.

Yeah, we could get infinitely handwavey with TF physiology.

They might be able to temporarily run at 90% cognitive function on RAM pockets all over their body as deep repairs are going on in the brain, and on the page of a comic they come across exactly the same.

You can basically make up anything to work it out.

Necroworld is in even more jeopardy now. Luna 2 is inside it. The massive change in gravity could make Necroworld collapse. Luna 2 could shift and smash its way out of Necroworld. The antigravity generators could overload. However, Luna 2 has its own antigravity generators. Still, I wouldn't want to live there!  :poop  I recommend beaming Luna 2 out of Necroworld ASAP.

Yeah, I was reading the last few pages with my brain going "nonononononononono!"
But maybe he'll be back soon. I hope so because this is first time since the 80's that I've ever been truly interested in Megs.

One way I can think of that will unintentionally turn into a disaster is the glossing over of conflicts. But that is not true Empathy. Empathy is not to ignore differences and clashing of interests and avoid problems. It is to be a better way to solve problems, an advancement of our social evolution.

Just read this (and most of the thread so far) and have to say, I do sympathise with the more negative comments. I replied to RNS Robots excellent thread about giving up on the lost light and I did encourage patience but I can see how a year or so can be argued as patience enough.

I will have to go for a re-read later but here are my thoughts:
I was actually gutted when Megs didn't make it and to start off I did think this was a cop out. I did think it would make the reckoning more difficult with the mutineers. Maybe not though, not having Megs there (who has mentioned he understands the autobots ire towards him) allows the Rod squad to focus solely on the shitty move ditching them and the consequences it had.

I still struggled to be captivated by the Anode thing, to me the cuts broke up the pacing of the other side of things.

I liked the possibility that Terminus could be shady as hell. The guys name sounds like he should be so we shall see.

I think the problem is that we've had such a long time away from what most people see as 'the core story' we forget that there is still very much set ups and other things in play for later. I don't think this is the end of Megs, I think this is a combination of Roberts having to adjust things for outside interference and also make sure Megs isn't with the guys when they catch up to the Mutineers.

I think a lot of the criticism has been warranted but I'm going to wait and see how the next few issues play out. That said I wasn't too enamored with my first read of this, perhaps now is a good time to go back reread all six issues back to back.

I thought about it a lot, but with a new issue about to drop tomorrow, I've decided to cancel my subscription. In a few months IDW will slash the price in half on Comixology and quite frankly, I can wait. This opening arc of the series just didn't do it for me.

If at some point I'm reading and this becomes a must buy book, I'll catch up. But right now this joins Optimus Prime and a lot of the IDW books where I'll buy it on sale, but not for full price.

That's a bummer because my son and I are reading it together. He's enjoying the Season Two arc of RiD and so we have a backlog of books to hold us over in the gap until the price drops. But he isn't looking forward to the book in the way he was before either.
