Masterpiece and 3MP figures look beautiful (to me) but arent exactly dynamic. The G1 cartoon aesthetic is boring in nature. Perhaps thats the real issue. The MP carbots have the distinct advantage over most FT figures that their cool, real life alt modes are dynamic sport cars. They are also more affordable than FT figures so there its probably easier to justify having most of the Autobots versus $150 FT figures.

Do the MP Seekers, MP Shockwave, MP Ultra Magnus, MP Van Bots also bore you?

I love my MP figures and literally take a gander at them multiple times a day. However, outside of nastalgia, there is little to really be excited about. i gawk at MP, but I fiddle w Striker Noir much more than any of my MP.

In fact I still havent even opened Boost or Grump. Im glad to have them, but exciting they are not.

FT are decent additions to my collection. I don't personally find them as amazing or the authority in Transformers as some of their fans do, and I only own 5.

Phoenix: Great figure, but the transformation is just not fun to me. FT should start including prying tools for their figures, it's getting ridiculous.

Sovereign: The amount of unnecessary, bloated diecast really makes this figure be my last favorite. Yes, the robot mode is beautiful, but the weight on it makes that thing a statue of sorts to me. And that alt mode? Jesus. That transformation? Jesus X 2.

Bombshell and Shrapnel: The BC options are simply not my cup of tea, and these are simply the next best thing. They are just not fun to handle and the back kibble is just not nice. Fillers until something better comes along, refuse to get Kickback.

Lupus: Got it at a sale, and I'm actually not all that disappointing by him. He does seem unfinished though, sort of rushed, but looks great!

Nothing else they have planned interest me in the last bit. Compared to XTB, I'm just excited for all their releases! Just amazing designs!

Still, I appreciate what Ft does.

Yeah what the hell is it with the people who have to come in to a discussion they don't want any part of just to bitch about the topic being discussed?

Some people like to discuss things that other people don't. Trying to silence other people's discussions because you don't like it is censorship... Just chill out and post in the threads you do care about... Jesus!

On topic: totally agree with the first part of your post. FansToys and KFC & co. Are totally taking over the direction that Takara veered away from, and I think that's awesome!

if its not pretty much perfect, I lose interest when a better version comes out and essentially give it away... with all brands in general. so I try not to buy things I think can/will be made better.

Ι am starting to believe that in these particullar boards you either go with the majority or they will try to silence you or attempt to discredit you...I have yet to figure out whats in it for the most of them though.

Thank you, its just an opinion, but I believe their designs mostly do look the part, at least for me.

What it actually is that you are trying to say.
I don't know if you have autocorrect on or something, but that sentence doesn't make any sense.

I do go for the more cartoon aesthetic because it's what I love and remember and even like the best. I want to tell a story about what I like by having my figures around. I can show people who they are and what they're about. It's also a really pleasing thing for me to look at. I like the whole IDW style but I prefer the G1 look. Like I said I just love that look a lot more, but I do find IDW style to be very new and pleasing to the eye. It's just that style seems very sharp and not as simple as I'd like. Though I guess it depends too on your personal taste. I like both. What am I collecting? I am collecting the original g1 style more because I am familiar with it. Depending on things though you can mix match because some things for g1 started to change after season three. I do like fanstoys a lot because of their original look, the only dx9 figures I have are their mightron and carry. I feel like they best resemble what I am looking for in Rodimus and Megatron. At least for now. I actually sold my official mp rodimus for carry because I felt the carry was better and more able to pose, less cluttering of a shelf too. I think it's not really the company for me, it's what they look like. So in that case, it's more of what looks good or works well instead of picking and choosing a company to stick to. Some of them do a better job than others but..what I am looking for is a pleasing aesthetic and I feel it's better to remain open minded than narrow sighted.

I rush typed it, but I believe that the context is not lost, then again as a non native English speaker I might have erred without understaning it.
    Ιt should have been:

"You do realise you are just saying yourself then, that the arguement 'doesnt have a soul' invalidates itself by value of personal taste, yes?"

What I meant to say is this: You are invalidating both mine and the opinion of those who believe that it doesnt have a soul by relegating the whole matter as 'personal taste'.

Yeah, I'm most interested in CHUG scale IDW, or at least well updated, designs so hyper cartoon accurate MP scale figures aren't for me.

That said, from everything I've heard and read Fanstoys rivals, if not surpasses, Takara so I applaud them for their success and wish them only the best.

You're not alone! I have yet to see a single Fanstoys product that I want to buy. It comes down to their character selection and design aesthetics. Either they make characters I don't care about or the ones I do care about, their designs don't look very good to me.

Yeah, so far Warpath is the only figure I think Badcube did a great job on. I bought their Sunstreaker as well but haven't bothered transforming it yet. I've had it in hand for so long now without caring much about it that I now completely don't care about it because the TT one looks better in every way. At least it's a shiny yellow Lambo looking good on my shelf right now.

Fanstoys for me - The original grey prototype of Scoria is what got my attention to 3rd party Transformers in the first place, but when the final model came out it just didn't seem premium enough to warrant the price. (It was a very early model of there's I guess - even they're redoing it).

I have the same feeling from a lot of their models though. They're very slavish to the cartoon looks and mimic G1 cartoon closely - but so closely that they all seem very simple and underwhelming. It's hard to closely match such a cheap looking cartoon and still look wowwing.

What I would LOVE them to do is, with their billions of colour schemes, do some premium Cell-Shaded painted bots. I think with the look of their designs, it could work together to be something really phenomenal. A few people have done custom MP figures and the results have been great. Imagine their dinobot line, but with yellow instead of chrome and painted up like these. (found them randomly on google, so sorry for no credit)

I have their Grump, only because I really believe no one will ever touch him! Same with their Brawn!

But yeah, what BC does is nothing to write home about. Complicated as fuck just for the hell of it for no apparent fucking reason other than being "different" transformations. Yuck.
