I'm giving Bethesda a D+. I don't think they had enough to justify having their own conference this year. The Evil Within 2 looks interesting, and I hope it improves upon the first game. I love to support good horror games. Wolfenstein looks insane, and I love it. The short film at the beginning in the style of an old Lassie movie was really funny and had Bethesda's trademark humor. Other than that, it was all DLC and card games pretty much.
The Evil Within 2 and Wolfenstein: The New Colossus saved that conference. The rest was pretty boring.
whaaaaaat the hell cave story characters in a fighting game this is amazing no one is going to buy this game but i love it
3 big conferences down, and the only really good reveal has been Metro Exodus. And that's because it's banking hard on making me think it's STALKER 2. Common Sony and Nintendo!
Wolfenstein winning the show for me so far, only thing announced that makes me immediately reach for my wallet. Really wanted to like the first Evil Within, but thought the gameplay and level design were badly undercooked. I'll be down for another if Mikami can keep the same atmosphere, but bring back more of the RE4 magic for the actual gamey stuff. Quake Champions would have been my bag if I was still doing online shooters, but those days are long gone. Nicalis though, it'll be even more amazing if it actually comes out and works properly.
Looking at what was shown, nothing really jumps out at me. Bethesda hasn't caught my interest this year.
Wolfenstein and Evil Within 2 are the best announcements for me so far. Thought Bethesda had a nice, lean conference overall and was the strongest of the three so far as a result.
Seeing that Quake is not coming to consoles, it's a pass. I still don't know if I should get Skyrim on PS4 or Switch. A bit iffy on Dishonored. The Evil Within 2: I don't know what I saw but I like it! Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus... I drink your milkshake!!! DOOM VFR... The F stands for Fucking, right? I'm not into VR. Same for Fallout 4 VR.
It's pretty clearly not the original version. What we were told before was that it wouldn't be using the Remastered version assets, which people assumed to mean we would be getting the original version. But we're not. We're getting the Switch version, which is clearly something a little different.
That's why I haven't had any interest in VR at all so far. Still seems like it's great for things where you don't need to move (Driving, flying etc) but for FPS games it just doesn't seem all that interesting. Especially for DOOM, since one of the biggest parts of DOOM is it not being a cover based shooter and movement being heavily encouraged.
X Box One X sounds like a stupid name and $500 is way too much. Other than UHD playback, what makes it worth the upgrade? Also, is the backwards compatible going to be ALL X-Box games or just a selection of them? More importantly though, what new IPs have been revealed thus far? We got home about two hours ago from Texas and went right to sleep.
Well it does seem like $500 worth of hardware. But it's definitely questionable whether this was worth doing.
