I believe that pictures like this, saw in "Secret History", will be more promotional material, and only a few of those images will be canonical, because, seriously: how can be possible to see old pictures of robots like Hound, Hot Rod, Ironhide, Drift and Starscream, with their modern designs?
Bee and Hot Rod have a WW2 design, so why not create new designs for those robots?
Shockwave is in a painting and in a poster, what the hell?

Same thing for those propaganda posters and news papers: how could they be a secret if they had that kind of "publicity"?
Bee also has his classic head's design, not a AoE design, so something doesn't feat with what we see in the movie.

If they have used the mythology of the previous movies, they will explain the stuff that can be explained.
Maybe the Optimus and Megatron statues have been created as a product of some kind of visions of the future, maybe is the same thing for the 1887 Krakatoa's eruption. This movie deals alot with premonitions.

Moreover, if there is a Transformers History, why we see only the robots we know?

We have seen only a shot of that room from the movie itself, in the Extended TV Spot, and nothing else. Why aren't they showing it in the TV Spots?

Well to be fair though, I doubt tons of older adults who are into art exhibits saw the Transformers movies. Those that did probably just saw the first movie and were done, not even remembering it much 10 years later.
Its not like they are mature movies with deep intriguing stories or even make all that much sense, and they are generally hated by critics.

Y'know, I've always wanted a return to Hearts of Steel style series where it's period pieces featuring TFs instead of strictly the modern age. Maybe that's whay I don't mind TLK's whole thing on TFs being here for centuries, because I've specifically wanted this kind of imagery of TFs in ye olde times and interacting in the various historical eras and cultures instead of the very typical modern times. I think I gravitate to that idea that the Transformers could be even more alien without our current society's sci-fi culture and understanding of our world and place in the universe. Other humans and wildlife were considered extrordinary back then to begin with, plus like with HOS I really like the idea that they adopt the aesthetics of whichever culture they're in contact with without the ability to copy vehciles or technology. It's, to me, a great concept barely explored in favour of the upteenth "Transformers crash outside of suburban USA." I think that's a big contributing factor of BW and TFA's appeal to me. It's not just the same old setting.

In fact I wish TLK was just that, though maybe we'll get "Transformers through the ages" later on.

I totally agree. I'm hoping we can get a BW movie at some point. The whole TFs in WWII idea was supposed to be a whole movie until they combined it with the Knight idea and made TLK.

True, though i always got the sense that people were kind of more aware of it than shown here. Maybe they filmed for a day and did not show people who recognised it instantly...?

This is what I've been saying for ages! That people should wait until watching the film before complaining about continuity. They said right here that it's vital marketing but people were so quick to claim that the film crew had no idea what they were doing.

    Awesome screencap, thank you.

1.) Count me in. Widen the scope to "TF through history" so that we can get the WWII Bee and the Anthony Hopkins Tank Bot
2.) I need this painting to finish my man cave :D

I did a bit of digging - the painting is an update of an original painting, by Auguste Mayer, painted in 1836 and is titled Scene of the Battle of Trafalgar, 1805.

I'm loving how much they're promoting this movie, it feels like AOE didn't get very much attention by comparison.
