strafe\'s robot head split really looks like rodimus. and, more importantly, what the hell version of strafe IS that?! doesn\'t look like a g1 version of the movie dinobot of the same name
I'm guessing you didn't read Redemption - Strafe is a new character, one of the Camien colonists that got caught up in the events of that story and was mutated by contaminated energon after being knocked into it by Bludgeon (hence the grudge). Though the two-headed alternate mode and name choice was likely inspired by the movieverse Strafe.
i could see an SDCC trypticon with some minor differences like the last two titans but a dinobot set? with what dinobot molds? they already did the movie ones. there's no other existing molds to use.
The name blurbs don't bother me, but I'm honestly curious if Barber is capable of writing anything that isn't framed by an unnecessary internal monologue.
new but not unknown....we knew about all three of those molds ahead of time. i highly doubt they're going to release brand new dinobot figures for SDCC that we haven't even seen at this point.

Slug isn't unnecessary. It's more or less a requirement to have the character globally. In the UK slag is basically slut. Slug is a fine name change. The bubbles have zero to do with his name change.
