I hope the Decepticons get stronger this time and do kill some Autobots.

While I do think that there are a few survivors from DOTM that were still in hiding, supposedly since AOE Transformers have been popping up everywhere. The vast bulk of Transformers in the time of TLK are new arrivals to Earth. Apparently Earth is in chaos as a result. I myself am really glad how this film seems like a continuation and escalation of the last film.

That's one reason I love AOE. It dared to be different from the rest of the films and actually took many fans out of their comfort zones with more misanthropic Autobots and Transformium and human-made Transformers and bounty hunters and Cemetery Wind and all new humans, and I say that as someone who tends to be more of a fan of Decepticon characters than Autobots. Initially after DOTM I actually wanted a more traditional Autobot vs. Decepticon conflict, and I'm glad I didn't get my wish, because I liked what we got for what it was more.

 

I have a theory about Nitro Zeus having a surname. You know how this movie's big thing is how Transformers have been interacting with humans for thousands of years? Well what if Nitro was around in Ancient Greece and interacted with the humans there. These interactions then became the inspiration for Zeus from Greek Mythology? And, for some reason, Nitro liked this, so he took Zeus as his surname. It probably sounds crazy at first, but it would only take a line of dialogue to explain and could also help set up the upcoming Transformers movie set in Ancient Rome (due to the connection between Ancient Rome and Greece).

 

Sounds exactly like the kind of Ancient Aliens shit the movies are known for, but it likely won't happen since I doubt Nitro Zeus (God, I love that name!!) seems like no more than a minor/background character.

Besides, I'd rather Nitro Zeus be a mysterious, enigmatic entity in the background like my boi Jolt than end up disappointed when he's a major character.

As far as we know Canopy exists only to die for the sake of a trailer, and he just gets more and more dead with every CGI revision. He's not even a character, he's fodder for emotional imagery.

 

Nitro Zeus being related to the Greek God probably won't be the case then. Although I'm still really curious how they'll do the whole "Transformers in Ancient Rome" movie.

 

For me I had trouble taking the KSI bots as a threat. Even with Megatron/Galvatron controlling them, they were more like mech than the robots we all love.
Plus I always root for the Cons, but there wasn't any this time.

They wouldn't. It would be just like this movie where they would have to do modern day and flashbacks to Rome and have a TF or 2 someone come forward from that time.

 

Understandable, although I liked them because 1) they had cool designs IMHO, 2) their transformations distinguished them from Cybertronians, 3) it calls back to the many times antagonists have used drones in the brand, and 4) them being inferior to Cybertronians was kind of the point. They should have gotten their circuits blown out, and they did.

 

The way they transformed bugged me the most. The morphing was what I was afraid they were going to do on the first movie.

 

I actually enjoyed their transformations, because I don't see humans programming and designing the complex transformations of the Movieverse Cybertronians. I wouldn't want regular Transformers doing it, but for human-made Transformers I enjoyed it.

We'll know for sure once the movie comes out. I mean I'd like to see the cons get more chances to show more personality aside from being killing machines and this recent files implies that we may see it but still I'm hoping we'd at least get one or two scenes of that.
