I just noticed that mohawks teeth are made of bike chains.

 

So of the various Decepticons, Chopter and Ravenspar aren't here.

But hey, good looks at everyone!

 

These bring so much hope and excitement.

However these could COMPLETLY backfire on the fan community. If they don't get characterization on screen, or even talk after all this build up, it's gonna sting even worse, more so than if they hadn't released this.

 

"Relatable" is as subjective as one can get. I think AOE has quite a number of relatable characters: Optimus, Cade, Hound, Tessa, Crosshairs, etc. Even Lockdown was relatable as far as villains go given his dislike of factions and humanity. I definitely related more to the characters than, well, any of the other movies, although the others movies do have some I can relate to, too.

And AOE's third act is not real world realistic with giant robot dinosaurs and what not (this is Transformers after all), but it's no more nonsensical than the third acts of any of the other films. Shit, does bringing the Allspark, which can give life to machines, into a heavily populated area in Mission City make any sense? Does Sam Witwicky dying and coming back to life make any sense? At least in AOE Lii Bingbging planned on going to a military base, and the reason the Autobots and humans can't get out with the Seed easily is because their ship was shot down and they become surrounded by Galvatron's forces.

If people are going to prefer one of the movies to the others that is perfectly reasonable, but I'll never understand why some fans, notably those of the earlier movies, think there is some enormous gap in quality between the different live action movies, nor will I ever understand why some fans consider some of the films nonsensical but others not at all. It's Transformers, it's all nonsense. Glorious, cheesy, campy nonsense. That isn't entirely a bad thing either; far from in fact.

I still really love Mohawk's design, even though he probably isn't the most major character.

If Megatron really is supposed to be 30' tall, ain't no way those heights for Nitro Zues (I will use his full name from now on) and Onslaught are correct.

Waaaaaaiiiiit...what if the whole bumblebee disassemble thing is to establish that when taken apart correctly a movieverse TF can be reassembled...? What if the bots are working with the cons and Cogman is like "I'll be needing to borrow your body" takes nitro zues' body, but puts his head back later.

 

theory: maybe hooligan is the truckbot that shot those people up in DoTM during the invasion scene.

 

Now that I've seen him, I'm sad that Mohawk is a goner.

 

But they're not Cemetary Wind, they're an entirely new faction that's just going to have to be set up all over again.

No it isn't. He was never captured, nor was Quintessa even named. He left to find his creators by himself at the end. You could've easily have written that into this movie, it's hardly a huge complicated plot.

But it isn't, really. Only a few characters are leftover from AOE, and what few concept carried over were so rushed and unexplained (Optimus has a new body and there's knights because reasons) you could've just done it in this film, this movie's basically doing the real work of introducing them anyway.

This post is, to me, a microcosm of the inability for many movie fans to understand just what is wrong with the TF movies. You seemed to have completley misconstruded what was actually being criticised.

"Relatable" does not mean a character has token human qualities, it means a charatcer we can relate and empathize with. Someone who feels real, grounded, and an actual person with motives, emotions and reactions with realistic nuance to them. Something I hesitate to call any character from AOE. In the same way that something can look human but not be human. Yes, technically the characters have relatable qualities, but they're so poorly written and acted it's impossible most of the time to think of them as real characters when everything they say sounds half-hearted or like a canned non sequiturs.

And you completely misunderstood what he meant by nonsensical. Nonsensical and unrealistic are not the same thing. Plenty of movies have runaway fantasy elements to them, but aren't an incoherant mess of pointless bullshit dragging on and on in an onslaught of noise and pointlessness. You're focussing on legitimizing the trappings and chosen flavour of spectacle when the initial complaint and many criticisms are that it is nonsense within the realm of the narrative. What do rampaging Dinobots, hordes of generic robot monsters, and a gigantic magnet sucking up and spitting out a city do for the story? The Dinobots are so overpowered there's no sense of tension to their fight, the Vehicons are just mindless monsters who do nothing cretaive or interesting, and the giant magnet never places the human characters in real peril verses the city being complet0ley trashed around them. It's all just mindless fluff action that's completely ineffective without an emotional connection to the audience.

 

Yeah out of all the Cons, he's got a very unique look and not recycled parts.

 

I really, really want to hope he's not dead and just gets stunned or flung around by the explosion. He's a kooky little thing.

But these are the TF movies. *sigh*

 

Well that explosion shot got updated in the Baby Dinobot trailer and I'm pretty sure he's standing in front of Nitro.

But that trailer was grainier than a rice field so who knows right now.

 

This hurts because it's most likely true....I wouldn't mind a solo film of these guys they sound like a hoot. (Dare I say more fun then the current Autobot cast)

Hopefully that's not the case, at least they'll have some screentimes with MEGATRON. all I want is the decepticons to interact with each other rather than walking around doing nothing until some idiot kills them. All they have to do is Bring explanations on their presence, give them some personalities and let them put their weapons to good use (killing autobots), its not rocket science.

 

You can't tell that by that shot! Why is everyone judging their height by this shot? All of them are in motion and not just standing still. The camera angle isn't exactly the best to determin heights and we all know in every TFs movie their heights seem to change from scene to scene because some people doing these movies can't seem to keep things consistent lol.

 

That's not how CGI models work. Yes, the heights do change occasionally for dramatic effect, but it has to be done on purpose.
