Anyway, I think Bay did a good job - and I don't really care for his other films FWIW.

Although, I would like to see what Speilberg could do if he was producing and directing.

Y'know I always kind of suspected if there ever was a TF film, we'd get someone like Anderson. Makes me even more thankful we got Bay. Fuck AVP makes Alien Resurrection look good in comparison.

Christophe Gans I think. Yeah I think he'd fairly rock, good call.

    I third that.

Personally I always wanted to see David Fincher (Seven, Panic Room, Fight Club) tackle Transformers. If he ever fancied doing something a bit more light hearted and commercial than his usual fare he'd be completely awesome.

    Oooo. That would be interesting.
VERY good call. Brotherhood Of The Wolf is one of my favourite movies; it's nothing short of stunning from start to finish.

I remember it was a really short list of directors that was supposed to direct Transformers before Bay was announced.

The only one I remember was Robert Zemeckis

    Who else was there anyways?

Robert Rodriguez - Will be handle it more right. He is one of my favorite Director.
I also would like to see Peter Jackson as the director in this film, he is a good director.

While I would give Bay a more chance for the TF2 even it hard to change his
atitude, he need to study for what he have been done for the prequel which it was good and which was not and made it go more right for the sequel.

    Everything changed after Titanic.

To be fair, there's few directors who could have handled LOTR, let alone commit almost a decade of their career to a franchise (and still get backstabbed by the same studio which he helped save).

Do you mean to the detriment of cameron's filmmaking? He'll have to go some way to beat his work on Aliens. The scripting alone on that film is plot-perfect and almost endlessly imitated. Most people don't even notice that he wrote the film!

Sort of. There are an awful lot of good directors out there that no-one even considers for these films. Few people really knew Jacksons work until Rings was released. Most competent directors could have handled the basic direction, it's the care and attention to the storyline, and the determination to breathe life to the book that separates him from the pack. Not to mention the ability to direct three films AT THE SAME TIME!!!

I want to see Michael direct all the movies. He was awesome with the fist movie and I'd rather have someone who knows the movie's mechanics direct it.

I love "The Rundown," but it was small-scale action. And I'd like to see some of his upcoming stuff (The Kingdom!) before I'm sold on him.

I'm going with James Cameron for my dream director, Ridley Scott as a close second, and Michael Bay as a workable third. I know he's divisive, but you know what you're getting with him and it's acceptable. Zac Snyder might be interesting also. And while I'm NOT a fan of Guillermo del Toro, I can see his appeal.

And I had NO idea that Cameron wrote "Aliens" also. Makes me look forward to "Avatar" even more now.

Personally I think Bay should stay just to keep the same flow. The first movie was awesome and in most instances, IMHO, when you change a director the movies change drastically. And usually not for the better. You get use to something and some guy comes in and starts doing things a little different and BAM there goes something you've been all psyched up over. Just look and X-3 or Spiderman 3, again that's just my opinion but I feel if you got something good goin', don't screw with it.

Pretty much... lack of anything cinematic after such a Bizarro world box office take on Titanic. It's as if he doesn't want to tarnish his golden image after that when in fact it would be a horrible way to end his cinematic carreer. Thank goodness he's doing Avatar... even if it's with furries >_<
