I've never heard of this online toy site before, I wonder how many US Online Toy sites are there...

I filled my basket with everything I thought was a smoking deal and then checked shipping, fully expecting to quit at that point. My basket was a little over $210 and the shipping added $25, so like a 11-12% bump. Deals were still pretty great. Totally worth it if you order a bunch, though I noted some things like the 20$ Sixshot are now sold out.

I did look at doing a second smaller order, shipping did kill that one for me.

I can't speak for the site itself. But assuming it's legit the shipping prices don't seem too unreasonable.

Try to think about the cost of gas (and TIME) if you were to try and locate these things locally. Honestly, expecting free shipping is a luxury (and it's really expensive for sellers), so you shouldn't get TOO hung up on the extra cost.

That said, you'll probably need to lighten the purchase to account for shipping, as toy budgets are limited, ya? :D  A $4 RID Legion toy, for example, is not a good deal because shipping essentially brings the price back up to retail (and those toys are stupid easy to find locally). On the other hand, a DELUXE GROOVE for $10 is a fantastic deal, even with shipping (not sold locally, and mostly sold out everywhere). They've also got G2 Bruticus for $49.99 - a fantastic price for those who missed the Burlington Coats discount price last year ($45, if you were lucky enough to actually find one after all the driving around).

As tempting as it is to drop a lot of money on clearanced items. Their yelp reviews leave much to be desired.

You might be right, but it's only FOUR reviews, to be fair... I might give them a go and see.

(Video below unrelated, but fun! Check it! :D )

Also, according to their FB/blog, it's a moving sale (moving to larger location), which implies they do well enough (sales wise) to need a bigger space, and that a lot of positive reviews are clearly missing (or a lot of lazy people with neutral/negative reviews to write? :lol ).

"There is always risk. You take a risk getting up in the morning, crossing the street... or sticking your face in a fan." - Frank Drebin :lol

EDIT: Dangit... I like that they ship 2-day Priority (for the price they charge on shipping! :rolleyes2 ), but I will likely be out of town in 2 days, so... :banghead:  It's too bad they don't have a slower shipping option. :/ I guess I'll order later...

I got $180 worth of stuff and it was $12 to me? Maybe b/c I'm in California or something, but it seemed pretty good. I was also not ordering large Transformers. I got all 4 SHF TMNTs, Neca Endoskeleton, a SW Movie Realization Sandtrooper, and 2 titan masters.

Your geo zone, the box weight, and now dimensional weight are all part of the USPS voodoo now. The idea is, nobody is able to figure it all out, so they'll just pay more for the flat rate boxes.

    Regarding Megalopolis,

I've dealt with their ebay store previously (98.9% positive off about 8200 feedbacks). One time they didn't have what I ordered in stock, and promptly informed me and offered refund or another item instead.

However I noticed they removed every listing from their ebay store and changed the name of the account when they started this clearance sale. So i dont know if thats good or bad.

I ordered a few things, but shipping is nuts for me as Im on the opposite coast.

Also I've lurked here for years, but finally decided to sign up and make this my first of all things.

Yeah it's a mess. Anything I sell that's not in a flat rate box on eBay I have to get it weight at the post office, measure the dang box, then put all that info in on eBay.

I used to do that too. I got so sick of the extra steps I ended up buying my own light weight scale for like $25. It was worth it for me in the long run.

I have a digital scale in the kitchen that I use to weigh packages before shipping. As long as the box isn't unusually large in any dimension, all Ebay needs is the weight. It's worth buying a scale if you don't have one. Ebay's shipping discounts and what you'll save in gas from not going back and forth to the PO will pay for it pretty quickly. I see a bunch of well-rated scales on Amazon for less than $15. And as long as the weight is under a pound, shipping first class is a lot cheaper than a flat rate pack. The only time I had to use a flat rate pack was when I sold my G1 Jetfire and it weighed just over that.

I think I got my scale from Amazon for $10 shipped from China, works great. Also USPS shipping discounts are available through Paypal, so anytime you ship something you can get a discount; don't even need a Paypal sale.
