I've been waiting for Nitro's alt-mode reveal.

It looks more like an amalgamation, though I'm getting a lot of F-1/F-5 vibes.

 

Soooo...just to see if this new business model was even viable I counted all of the named characters that don't currently have figures in the "premier edition" line. That's movies 1-4 plus the remaining characters from TLK...I got upwards of 80 possible releases...and that's not even counting random repaints, g1 characters redone in the movie style and the like. Assuming that new directors are able to breath fresh life into this franchise, this new "premier edition" actually has a shot of being around for a long long time...

 

Honestly I didn't mind AoE Lockdown when I first got him, but that may have been because I vastly underpaid. He has bizzare partially-missing side windows in vehicle mode, awkward proportions, terrible arms and he's just too damn small. I'm pretty sure the retooling and even re-engineering in some places on Hot Rod will make him a far superior figure.

Back-half's a mixmaster, though--my first thought was F-16, but it doesn't have the thick root strake of a Viper and the 16's wing and stab trailing edges are unswept, 90-degrees-to-centerline.

I suspect they mixed because Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman are getting even nastier about IP licensing than the carmakers... even though once an aircraft is designed with military dollars its cosmetics gain something like Public Domain status.

 

If that's the case they should have made all of the TLK toys headmasters so kids could have Cogman take over other bots. Also it would have been cool brand synergy with Titans Return.

 

Premier Editions – more new mold items are coming, wanted to re-introduce key figures and characters to new fans. Also allowed movie accurate decos and enhanced decos on previous figures.

That in itself is enough for a couple of other people I know as well as my self that Even know there's not a 4th wave for tlk.

Characters not released yet will probably get a release later on either before, during or even between movie's.

Well, I am definitely sold on Cogman and Nitro now.  Looks like they might have features that work with each other, not sure.  Interesting that Nitro has an opening cockpit though.

 

I'm glad this is a sign we are getting a Wave 4 Deluxe. But what about a Wave 4 Voyagers. I mean I know now that Leader Class Dragonstorm is true, I wonder if Voyager Bumblebee is true. It could just be a cover up name for Nitro since Amazon labeled Voyager Bumblebee with Scorn. I don't want to believe this is where the line ends. I just wish they would confirm there will be a Long Haul look alike in the Last Knight line. I just can't believe Nitro came before him and because The Tow Truck had a bigger announcement than him. I would hope Takara has something planned like a Long Haul Retool. I just don't want the line to end knowing they never intended to make him. I know it's an obsession, but he was most I was looking forward to as a toy before Toy Fair was revealed.

Well, all I can say is after reading that Hasbro interview is that I'm pretty confused.

Items shown today are intended for late August Doesn't this seam a little late? Seams like all the hype would be gone by then.

This sound like they are saying a very small amount of new molds will be released but expect mostly repaints of old figure you may already have but with better paint jobs.

What we’ve seen today is the end of the The Last Knight line proper, but Movieverse figures will not end there. There is another movie coming next year, so they will be fading into other movie focused lines after this. This one really confuses me. So are they saying that that's it for the movie line until the new Bumblebee movie comes out or are they says that a new line will take the place of TLK until the new bumblebee movie comes out?

 

How TF am I gonna get Hot Rod now??? I knew it was too good to be true after the glorious news... FCK YOU HASBRO!!!

I hope more new mold figures are coming after this. Just Onslaught for me and I can end my TLK collecting.
