The face is not silver anymore, same goes for the knees and the back of the car, which transforms to the top part of the feet, are now black and without text. I find all this an improvement.

Guys, you also have to factor there are some people who don't own Sideswipe yet. I entered the fray a bit later, and of the required stuff for my collection I'm only missing Sideswipe (didn't get him in time and then waited for a potential + release) and Grapple. Accordingly, unlike when I had to sell MP-14 to pay for 14+, I can just buy 12+ and be happy. :)  This is the same problem with everyone having gone on before about the line being dead and whatever else - they just reissued a ton of figures, a slower pace is not the end of the world for this year, especially considering the higher price tag associated with almost every figure this year.

I'm not 100% sure you can read anything into it but I'd be surprised if we see any additional MP reveals unless it's only on screen (so no prototype) given the area where Sunstreaker is on display doesn't seem to have any more room for Takara to put out another figure. That cabinet looks pretty full already.

I hate the "cartoon" faction symbols. I know the Autobot one doesn't differ drastically (unlike Megatron's) but in my mind all the Transformers should have the same logo. Damnit, don't they have a style-guide? They're just watering down the brand!

MP Sunstreaker = I'll give Takara some credit for using other influences than the cartoon for this figure and had there been a toy influenced headsculpt instead of Chip and/or that stupid mask I would have bought one.

As things are, I'll perhaps buy a KO but my Sunsurges are staying on my '84 shelves.

MP12+ = Easy pass as I've owned every version of the mold except Clampdown twice and have no intrest in more. New options for the head/face and a jetpack would have made the package more intresting.

MPM Bumblebee = Still tempted but I'll wait and see what Barricade looks like first as I'd like something else to display him with and don't want MPM Optimus.

    Bring on images of Dinobot!

Screw you guys. I'm all aboard the MP-12+ hype train. Can't stop my good feelings and good vibes! I'm selling Lambor and buying this. It's a personal preference but I've always considered the silver vs white a gross contest. White all the way baby. Now then.... PRIME PLEASE

If people hadn't pointed out it was +, I wouldn't have even known... Makes me wonder, with such minimal difference, why such a large markup in price? They used to price reissues pretty similar. This may as well be a reissue. Guess they say it's not to try and justify the ridic markup.

Its only $5. In Yen the difference is only 10%. Is that a huge markup?

...five dollars for three sets of piledrivers; not bad, really, but it would take a new head sculpt and jetpack to tempt me...regardless, he looks a lot better alongside sunstreaker than i'd envisioned; i think my original MP-12 will suit me fine...

I paid like $40 for MP-12...so that would have been in the mid to high 4k for yen. Granted, there's a preorder discount in that, but this link says the original price was 6090 yen, which results in a mid to high 4k preorder price...
    Lambor - Transformers Toys - TFW2005
So, is 2400 yen a huge markup?

Given that MPM-4 Optimus hasn't been shown yet (probably saved for the Sunday panel), it's looking less likely for MPM-5 Barricade to make its debut this weekend. It seems like Dinobot (prototype at least) is probably the main announcement. Maybe a 10% chance of Jazz. Or Hoist/ TB. Hoist and TB have been very strongly rumoured for so long.

I've been thinking about this very thing recently. It seems the car companies are mostly okay with any paint scheme Takara applies on the licensed models as long as the shapes are within their acceptable limits. So Sunstreaker's chromed spoiler is fine, Sideswipe's rear tail lights are now all black (MP12+), all of Red Alert (both versions), Prowl and Smokescreen, Track's flames, and some of the "Diaclone" repaints. These are all fantasy/fictitious color schemes.

Yeah, I also collect Star Wars 3.75" figures, and the amount of re-dos with the tiniest of differences are frustrating. But some collectors get excited about getting that "perfect" figure. At some point, you have to make do with what you have. I'd much rather have new characters (in SW and TF).

Hmm, interesting. But is it something completely new we don't know about, or just a fully colored Dinobot?

Looks like MP-12+ is an easy pass for me, but it's nice for those who don't have Sideswipe yet. No significant remolding, which isn't surprising. Interesting that the front headlights aren't painted over like MP-14+.

I know everybody's crazy for Jazz to be announced (and I am too), but I'm confident he will be released, along with the other Diaclone cars, sooner or later. If we get a new G1 announcement at TTS, what I'm really hoping for is something to really surprise and get the speculation flowing, like Devastator or a triple changer. I still have a feeling we won't get any new G1 at TTS, but it's nice to dream.

This is what drove me to collect ONLY vintage Kenner when it comes to Star Wars. That sort of thing burns me out - it's what turned me off SW Lego, modern era GI Joes, modern 12" figures... I really hope it doesn't happen with MP Transformers.

On that note, I can deal with it in moderation. Starscream V3? Sure, I guess (though I'd be happy if it never happened). But please don't bother with the coneheads - I finally got Dirge in today, and he looks perfect. I am more excited with him (and FT Phoenix) than I am with my other new purchase, MP Megatron, which is FINE, don't get me wrong... But every time I go to "new posts" and see that thread of him "...and he's GLORIOUS", I'm just kind of ehhh...

    But he's okay.

Sorry to get off-topic, I've had a glass of wine and two tallboys. Any news from TTS? :)

Kinda flies in the face of the buttflap snobs that were arguing that he wouldn't have waist swivel because of that 2mm of buttflap hanging below the crotch.
