Obvious? - TFSource Article

    We like to think we know the Masterpiece Transformers line, but every so often TakaraTomy pull something out of their hat which shocks the community. This might be a character previously thought to be off-limits, think Sunstreaker and Bumblebee due to car manufacturer requirements. We can never truly predict what they’re going to do next, even if occasionally the whispers from supposed sources in the know are correct. One area where we can make an educated guess is that of the repaints.

    What surprises me the most is the lack of Bumblebee repaints. Takara scored a coup, getting Volkswagen licensing, and I'm sure I remember at the time Bumblebee came out the designers said they had numerous repaints planned. And of course the rainbow of colors the original Microchange toy was offered in is well known to everyone. Yet we've seen gold and red, and nothing else. He's fairly inexpensive, he's the #2 Autobot in the entire franchise, his car mode is perhaps the most well-known and ubiquitous vehicle in history... what is the hold up??

    we sooooo need a Deepcover.

    and they can raid the hard to find iGear figures, a teleporting Skywarp and G2 Ramjet. and they can do what should've been done with CHUG and the unreleased desert/arctic Ramjet decos.

    Much as I'd love a Deep Cover, I think chances of him ever being released are receding.

    It's been my dream since getting Clampdown in September to have Lambor, Tigertrack, Clampdown, and Deep Cover, on the back of Delta Magnus in car carrier mode.

    I have to say that paint job looks nice, even though I'm generally not interested in non-show recolours. And I'm lukewarm on the Lambor mould.

    Maz - is that Deepcover of yours a photoshop mockup or a custom ?

    In an alternative universe somewhere, Takara had a "B" subline, and have re-released every single MP mold in black colours.

    Oh I just whipped it up by adjusting hue levels on my pics of G2 Lambor in Adobe Lightroom :) 

    Of course I'm so buzzed by how it looks it now tortures me every day because it isn't real :(
