Finish the Seekers and bring on the Aerials  

 

Seems logical.

... But this seems to be a stretch. I see the logic behind them releasing + figures in conjunction with new releases, but releasing them alongside reissues... ehhh. I mean, ultimately the + figures are glorified reissues themselves (barring any remold surprises with MP-12+, which would indeed be cool but I'm not expecting them, personally).

 

I hope they don't retool Swipe, because then I'd HAVE to buy him. But if they did dramatically retool MP-12, I wonder what that would mean for the future of the + line. It may have been conceived as a repaint option for existing molds (like Alert), but if a retool did happen, it might be a way to slip in a whole bunch of toon-inspired retools, or possibly even entire redesigns. I do not relish the idea of perfect iterations of the characters I already bought making the scene (but it would be pretty tempting).

 

As an add-on to this, I personally doubt it will be a retool (aside from maybe a new headsculpt), and I imagine this will be one speculative front that will be resolved relatively soon!

 

I like the sound of that.

 

It did occur to me, though, that this is kind of our worst fears realized. Last week, the idea of a Sideswipe 2.0 before the completion of the remaining Diaclone carbots met with a lot of negativity. And now here we are, the next (best?) thing, perhaps a Sideswipe 1.5, taking up retail shelf space and a slot in the production schedule, before the completion of the remaining Diaclone carbots. This thing had better be spectacular.

 

I guess with Sunstreaker coming in Dec. chances are there wasn't going to be much production anyway. A straight repaint would be the easiest to slide in but I don't see that happening as a general release. I think you would have to have more than a new paint scheme for a character that could arguably use a redo. Funny thing is I expect 8500 to be the new price for carbots with Sunstreaker being the outlier due to his double alt modes. Hope we find out this week, Ill be the first to say I'm really disappointed if they march out a repaint and a new face on that small @ss head. Then again we are working on the assumption that + refers only to paint schemes to make it more animation accurate. I dont see him getting a head more like the newer MP's without some altering to his chest so it can fit, so I'll hold out hope if he gets a new head that they do something with his chest.

 

I think the price increase of Sunstreaker and MP 12+ could be because the way they convinced Lamborghini to do a "custom" Countach was with a high amount of money

I hope the will include the jetpack but I don't see mold changes for MP Sideswipe+

Some may not be happy about MP12+, but I'm beyond ecstatic. The Twins are my all time favorite Transformers, followed VERY closely by Jazz. So yea, I'm loving this  

 

I think it's probably a combination of a larger fee, far more parts than a normal carbot has, and some inflation.

Unfortunately, those are all realistically things that may happen again, particularly when we're talking about licenses that have been hard to obtain. They've got to pay more, make it more gorgeous with more pieces, all of it. Luxury brands want luxury representation.

So totally left wing idea here but could mp12+ be a retool and repaint of MP39 without the second car roof? Using the cheating chest setup.

 

I would highly, highly doubt that. Although they are brothers their designs have always been different in the robot modes. You can't have Sideswipe with chest feet. Just wouldn't work.

 

True, true they could use that to get the chest right but then the feet and legs would be all wrong. Ah well, back to thinking it's just a rerelease with a new hat then

Wheeljack and Prowl are fine as they are.


Prowl would look lame with these "anime" colours, a new head will make them worse IF it happens.

I think Prowl had the best headsculpt overrall in the MP line.

Well, it's not so much malarkey as it is prolonged silence. Binaltech Meister became a Mazda RX-7 because Porsche would not entering a licensing agreement. So, it is definitely true. However, that was around 14 years ago in 2003. Many things change over time, and we've not heard anything official regarding licensing, so most people are saying things based off of something that happened over a decade ago. Management changes, attitudes and policies change, so it is entirely possible that Porsche's position has changed. We're all just currently in the dark for right now.
