Nice work on these. Simple but effective. That hinge on the door that the other customs and kits lack makes all the difference to me - let's the door sit flat on his side so it doesn't bulge out making him look fatter, and it just breaks up the panel making it look more transformed into there rather than looking like he's just stuck his door under his arm pit like a clipboard. Colour looks perfect too. Good job.

 

Man I was going back & forth on if I really needed to order these and after seeing these new product shots I caved. I honestly am not bothered by the hip panels on mine but I have to admit they do look nice without them.

 

 but i thought you hate 3rd party stuff. or is it just the figures and upgrades are fine.

 

As to the front bumper, more adjustment made on it will not benefit the transforming, may lead to the damage to the structure, we think. We're target to use the least adjustment to achieve the most benefit, both in its looking and its structure

 

Any idea if these will fit the KO's as at least they don't have flaky chrome

 

I agree the custom/oversize KO with the disappearing bumper looks to achieve that with lots of little joints and links that look potentially fiddly and fragile even at oversize scale. What you have done, as I said above, is simple and effective imho.

 

Looks great, I'll have to try these out for one of my Ironhides.

Just got these a couple of days ago and they fit perfectly on my MP Ironhide and Ratchet. Super easy to put on and took like 5 mins each figure.

 

Super late to the party on this (I was hoping for a Black Apple/Wei Jiang redo of Ratchet, the same way they did Ironhide), but I'd like to point out one issue with the Ratchet set I got.

The replacement door pieces do not have enough clearance on the underside to pop out the windshield. The corners of the wheel pieces hit the corners of the door bits, and you have to apply an unreasonable amount of force to get the windshield in or out.

I ended up shaving off some bits on the underside of the doors with a Dremel. How much you have to take off is going to vary depending on your figure. I had to shave off a tiny bit at a time, test fit, and repeat.

Just something to be aware of, if you happen to find any more of these kits in the wild.

Zombie thread! Has anybody had the paint on their SFM04 chest parts yellow? Mine were never exposed to direct sunlight but have yellowed over time. They really stand out against Ratchet’s pristine white now  

Wondering if there’s any way to reverse the hue change. If it’s not widespread I might try tracking down another set.

@erain1984, any chance you guys will reissue the SFM03 and SFM04 upgrade kits? They've become really hard for people to find.
