I mean we basically know why

No one really brought the Deluxe Insecticon versions of them. So given they didn't sell well, they didn't bother making the other version of them

Well, the Insecticons did sell out the first time around. I remember there was a brief period they were starting to go up in price until they were reissued for a 2nd round.

Anyway, Warbugs... I couldn't remember the name. It's a shame they didn't produce these. I would have bought them, one of the few original ideas out there that had traction.

I believe I heard the Deluxe Insecticons were not sold out. They only released a small amount so they could claim they sold out, hoping people would think they were hot items, then released the rest. It is just marketing.

Just score a batch of all of fp released headmaster for 200$. Kinda sad that this will never be completed.
P/s: smart robin and sigma L still some of the best transformation I have ever see for a 3rd party company.

I hope if the designers went elsewhere, they took the Warbugs plans with them. But, it's been so long it's probably a lost cause by now. Too bad.

Yeah. Still hoping for a FP Venom. But at this point i have a better chance of mmc doing the four of them as companions for their Lockdown.

The kibble actually hasn't been a huge issue for me. I just use it as a way to mix up the silhouette.

I have a feeling they're switching to MP design and will reveal an awesome figure in the coming weeks/months... :)

While I'm not sure about the first part, I feel like the second is likely. A company going dead like this after going so strong for so long doesn't sound right, at least without some sort of official announcement.

Unless you're making the newest and greatest Masterpiece figure, you're not gonna stay alive.

I wonder why FP made some lazy decisions? First off while a darn good figure, Why did their not Grimlock have the black hinge kibble on his dino back??? it looks awful and could easily of been avoidable. I'll skim over the bad decisions on not highbrow that we know all to well and skip to the one downfall of the Dinogals.... I cancelled my order when I found out the dino hands/claws and robot hands were embarrassingly lazy.

I dont know about you guys but I definitely would of paid 5$ more for a figure if it meant having everything cleaned up but FP so many times acts as if they ran out of money and said F**k it, put it out. Its 3rd party.... make the figure and set the price after you have something to be proud of. Which makes me wonder, did FP make mistakes on putting out pricing for preorders too early???? probably so.

It's beyond just being lazy, there is also a layer of incompetence that went into that design.

And I can't help but wonder if some of you are being optimistic because of what is happening with UT coming out and announcing their new directions and the big project on bruticus

Its pretty much MP or war in pocket scale now days because with over 20 chug figures coming out a year... you dont wanna be a company who puts its investment into a figure just to have has/tak announce that character coming out down the line....

Classics, CHUG, Generations styled figures are dumb to do by a third party company because HASBRO and Takara have either done them, or will do them. And they will do them A LOT cheaper. Also, the last big project FansProject did was their take on DinoKing which is a little too obscure, not Masterpiece scaled which most people want these days. And, they chose poorly in not deciding to do Monstructor first, that I believe would have sold better.

I disagree. There are instances of CHUG styled figures that are drastically better than anything the aforementioned companies would have produced. I REALLY doubt Hasbro would make a proper IDW styled Arcee in a mostly deluxe scale, but MMC did that, and that toy was great. I don't personally think that style of toy is an issue, as Hasbro and Takara have some serious limits 3P companies don't

I'm not disagreeing with that fact. However, your in the VAST minority when it comes to collecting. Most folks prefer their figures to be inexpensive. So while MMC's version of Sixshot is A lot nicer than Titan Returns. People would rather have the Titans Return. Third party is much better off doing Figures HASBRO or Takara won't tackle. So IDW styled is fine, even Masterpieces like the Headmasters or Targetmasters are better. So while Smart Robin may be a better figure, who wants to pay $60+ for him on sale, when they can get a Titans return braimstorm for a third of that price and be perfectly happy. (I would pay more for a big figure too, don't get me wrong...just not most collectors). And don't even get me started with the KO Collectors out there.

Oh, so do I. It's just that sometimes CHUG figures can represent things we simply wouldn't get from Hasbro or Takara (like very distinctly IDW styled characters, with a few notable exceptions).

I also don't think I should expect a Takara Piranacon remake anytime soon :p
