Haven't done any repaints since the Transformers: Prime days (mainly because I haven't bought too many figures), but I liked the look of this one (only have minor issues with the mold), and wanted to touch it up. NEW PHOTOS (added flames - they're not perfect, but they are progress - and added some truck mode details)
Thanks! I'm not good at painting the flames (which is why the chest is so weathered) but I'm pretty pleased with the rest of the figure. Hopefully I can reach your skill level some day. I have your custom bookmarked because I plan on doing the smokestack and shield magnet mods you did.
Thank you for the kudos! The trick I use to do the flames is to not let the toothpick touch the surface. That will lead to "double lines" when outlining the flame shapes because the point of the toothpick then separates the intended mark around the tip like a boat splitting water. Rather, let the paint drop touch the surface and very delicately drag the paint into the pattern you want to draw, your best not to have the toothpick touch. It could be anything, really, that has a sharp point... a needle, thumb tack, nail, etc.
