Riiiiight.. Reminds me of that power rangers fan film that was kickstarted a couple years ago. Took peoples money and then never posted another update

 

I talked to Dr. K some during lunch via Facebook. He is getting parts in for the GCI-02 and GCI-06 sets and will begin shipping them this week. He stopped posting mostly due to negativity on the boards, which is easy to see. I understand everyone's frustration, but the end of the tunnel is near, so if you can stick it out a couple more weeks, I believe everyone will get what's coming to them.

 

You make that almost sound ominous. Like the guns and parts will be made of C4 or something.

 

How many people here have paid for the Brute Parts and are waiting for him? Taking a survey to try and establish something.

Those who paid for the Brute Parts and canceled preorders how many of you got your money back and how much time did it take to get it?

 

I think we have had enough of your vendetta Calabask. Let these threads be what they were meant to be, updates and pics and discussion about the parts; not a vehicle for you to try to drag Dr. K's name through the mud. He doesn't need any help in that matter it seems. People will have made up their minds by now.

 

If he wants to take a survey let him. Someone should.

 

If it was anyone but him, I would've participated. I just am anticipating more vitriol using the results, and frankly, I am tired of it. I want updates, not bickering.

 

I have No vendetta. I am taking a survey to see what the exact situation is. You don't think people deserve to know the truth in the end? You don't think people deserve to have their stories heard?

Honestly, I have no Vendetta here beyond getting things done right by people. I have nothing ordered through him and ordered from him in the past and until I confronted him on behalf of people being cheated out of their money, we were friends on Facebook.

 

I think people don't need you hijacking these threads to bash his operation as you have been doing. I am all for knowing the truth, but I fear your quest "to get the truth out" has been counterproductive and completely derailed the points of these threads. Start a new thread with the survey for those who want to hear more and leave these threads for those who want to know about the products themselves. What you are trying to do adds nothing of value to these threads.

And on the subject of a survey revealing the truth...I seriously doubt a survey on these threads will reveal accurate information, because there is no way to get an accurate sample of who bought, then kept their orders or not thanks to the anonymity of the internet. Having said that, I will be transparent. I have maintained 2 of my 3 orders with him, requested a refund on the third and got it within a week, after reminding him of it (within an hour of reminding him i might add) by Facebook messenger, which is what I advocated to others fed up with him.

I understand everyone's frustrations. I am not saying he is perfect or has not done what he has been accused of and have been told some very disturbing things by another board member here which I do believe. I maintain my 2 orders for purely selfish reasons. After 15 months from the time I placed more orders, I am willing to wait a little longer because I want what was promised, I like the designs, and I aim to see this through, which I will post if or when I get my orders, then I will be done with his services.

 

I think the surveys add quality and this is likely the best way to get results.

Ok so my parts are out for delivery, when I get home from work this afternoon I'll snap photos and report quality

 

No time for photos right now but here is my initial reaction  the 5 small guns are made from this wierd rubbery material, reminds me of the soft Hasbro parts. The big guns and back guns are a more solid material.

Do to the rubbery material the combining of the weapons doesn't work at that well.

The back guns look great and create a much better look over the stock guns.

Now the big rifle and shotgun for combined mode this is where the biggest flaws to experience happen. They just don't work with the PE hands and their weight is too much for the elbow joints of brut.

So it boils down to this, I really wanted this set for the back guns, which are great.

The individual guns look good but feel wierd and the gimmick of combining is spotty.

The big weapons are going to be heavily modified to work with either Brut or another not on the shelf. Namely I will be drilling out some of the bulk to lighten them a bit and shaving down the sculpted handles as they are too thick for the PE hands or I may remove them all together.

Final grade factoring how long these took to get released 5/10

In the end worth it to me because the sculpts are nice even if they don't stay with Bruticus

Side note: The material of the small guns maybe extra soft due to the fact it is 110° outside and they were in the mailbox for a few hours. I'll update when they've been in the house for a bit.

 

Yikes. That sounds... Not great in the least. I'm glad you got what you wanted out of the back guns, but the rest? Yeesh.

The rubbery material is straight up false advertising, IMO. When Killinger started accepting pre-orders for these, he said (and the website still does) that all parts would be ABS plastic. I'm no expert, but in my experience ABS won't turn rubbery because of heat. And the fact there seems to be different materials at use seems like he made some changes without informing us customers.

I sent off a request for a refund a couple of days ago. Here's hoping he'll honour it sooner rather than later.

 

So i checked the small guns this morning and I could only flex them when using full force so they did harden up A LOT

 

Any pictures yet? Seems weird only you got parts right now but no pictures

 

I've been around these boards far too long to be telling ghost stories. I work full time and am a full time caretaker as well. Taking time to clear an area and do photos takes time, time I don't have until my work weekend which is Thurs/Fri.

When I have time I'll post photos just isn't my number 1 priority. I wanted to give my first impressions so others could know what to expect if they are still waiting.

With that said I regret not getting the Renderform set because I don't expect the Blastoff head to be that great with what I've seen with the weapons

 

Hmm the PE hands thing could be fixed with some things on Shapeways but did you get the swords too @Slimaximus ???
