I miss the days when TF's actually had a discernible smell...them rubber tires were great (while they lasted).

My unpopular opinion: I love MP Shockwave. He is 100% faithful to the toon version and surpasses 3rd party attempts by a wide margin. He's actually one of my favorite MPs.

RID Side Burn gets an unfairly bad rap. He's a little fiddly and a little shellformery, but within that he's fun and cool. And there are way worse offenders out there in those categories.

Not every figure need to have "ROTF Leader class Optimus Prime" level engineering. Just because something like the RID2015 Warrior class figures doesn't have complex engineering, doesn't automatically make them terrible figures.

I think the TR Octane mold fits Optimus better than Octane.

The RID2015 Warrior class figures are fun and awesome figures.

ROTF Leader class Optimus Prime isn't the best Leader Class toy ever created.

I agree with the first one. Take, for example, Deluxe Dragstrip. He's fun, simple, and effective. I would've liked to have seen the backpack used as a chestplate, but it's good either way.

I don't have the Octane figure to judge, but I think it works pretty well for Prime.

I agree, although I think the rest of the line sort of sucks, and they needed voyagers.

I don't have it, but it looks cool. I'd say it probably gets beat out by something. Because I think Voyager fits better, I'd like to get my hands on some form of the Buster figure.

I like Hasbro's Combiner Wars Computron better than the TakTomy Unite Warriors version, largely because the UW uses the fugly hand-foot guns and has the drill hanging off of Nosecone's leg in a clumsy way. It may be G1 accurate, but to me it looks terrible. The Breakdown mold, while being more accuate looks-wise, is an inferior mold to the Dead End mold because of the screwy leg/hip transformation.

I will never, ever turn the jet parts backwards on the legs of my CW Superions. You lose the knees, and it looks ugly to me. Again, an instance where G1 accurracy is, IMHO, vastly overrated.

I also think ROTF Leader Optimus looks cool and nobody can denied the fact that it's a well-engineered figure. But the figure is an absolute chore to transform and play with. It's a great engineered figure, but not a fun toy to fiddle with.

MP 10 should be replaced by a new version of Optimus that continues the MP direction of toon accuracy

2007 Optimus Prime Leader is funnier and more enjoyable than ROTF Leader (even if this blows of the water the another in engeenering and accuracy).

The translucent bits are not bad in the correct places, and they work better as windows than a cheap paint pretending to be them

    I agree about RID.
But i also agree with the previous comment that the line needs voyagers, at least for Optimus, Grimlock, Steeljaw and Megatronus

I love MP Shockwave. He is everything i wanted him to be, but i can see why some people would want him a little taller.

I really like HFGs. I like them enough that when deciding which Computron to get, the HFGs were a point in UW's favor.

When I first saw pics of Menasor and Superion, I noticed Menasor's heel strut, figured out that the hands and feet were interchangable, and thought it was a neat idea. When I actually got the wave 1 limbs, I was even more impressed by how well some of them were suited to their bots. Dragstrip's having the extra 5mm hole for roof mounting. Alpha Bravo's being molded to match the cockpit top in leg mode.

I like Offroad's mounting to his truck bed as an engine. I like Brawl's mounting on his roof in place of his G1 cannons. My favorite is the one that comes with the Lambo/Wheeljack mold. The backpack is obviously intended for Sunstreaker, but works well with the other characters, too.

This brings me to my second unpopular opinion: I prefer the CW Lamborghini/Wheeljack mold to the Dead End mold. Better HFG incorporation, no unpainted plastic on the car sides, and no hollow wrist/kneecap in limb mode.

My only beef with HFGs is that the standard two barrel form gave me false hope of Predaking.

Eh, I don't mind the stripe of unpaintable plastic on the sides of Dead End and friends, nor the gap in limb mode of the two I have. And Breakdown still has a bit of a hollow "kneecap" in leg mode where the chest plate doesn't cover, and really wish the rear would hold together better. Mine stays together, but there's still a split in the very back where it doesn't quite come together perfectly. My favorite hand/foot gun though is Swindle's. Since UW Blast Off and Brawl also feature 5 mm ports underneath the weapons, you can stack all four of their hand/foot guns together for the sheer absurdity of it. (provided Swindle doesn't try to sell them to some terrorist group in Carbombia or something :lolol )

I really don't think TLK is holding up Titans Return. You know what I think is holding up Titans Return?

    Titans Return.

Well they're sitting side by side on the pegs, so CLEARLY the movie toys are at fault.

Yeah, no. People are just impatient in this day and age. Wave 4 came out not that long ago, and now we're clamoring for wave 5. Heck, Blitzwing and Octane have been trickling in to stores, so it's still coming in.

I don't want wave 5, I'm still looking for wave 4 XD But my Target has Wave 3 hanging around, and my Walmart has a mess of waves 1 and 2. I can't get excited for wave 5 when I still haven't seen Perceptor or Topspin lol.

It's funny. My Walmart had a few of wave 4 up, but has since restocked with wave 3 - though Krok was still kicking around last I checked. Plenty of Brawn and Roadburn though with a sprinkling of Bumblebee.
