It doesn't exactly match a specific WfC design, but it's the same sort of vehicle; it's similar to WfC Sideswipe. The palette is a big part of WfC too, of course, but ignoring colors, this has that same sort of vehicle design... a flattened rectangle (which makes sense with a car, but sticks out as an aesthetic choice for a flying vehicle), three prong front end, winglets, not much of a cockpit. It's not the same as any specific design I'm aware of, but it does seem cut from the same cloth.

The angles on that don't cut as sharp and hard as the ones on Alpha do. The resemblance is quite vague at best.

Alpha looks like a cool ass sci fi space jet to me and I am completely happy with that. It's a monumental leap over the messy pile of folded up robot limbs with a wing backpack that was the original design.

I am definitely into this figure now. I didn't care for it much with the original design but the new WfC/FoC aesthetic that they are heading towards looks amazing, I hope they keep going in that direction. Depending on the size, this would go perfectly with Planet X stuff. Keep it up MMC! Cyclonus was a botch but this is restoring my faith in you!

If they're gonna do Drift, he'd better come with interchangeable parts for converting him to Deadlock (just like MMC Megatron) which also allows him to be converted to represent his partially rebuilt form.

    NOOO.

I think the interchangeable parts on Megatron are a detriment to his figure. They should leave the Drift figure alone as is. The Deadlock repaint won't be as accurate because of it, but honeslty I don't mind. Drift matters more to me than Deadlock

Yeah, I want a great looking Drift figure, and no gimmicks that hamper his engineering or cost.

Either bot is fine, but I think I preferred the original alt mode. The new one lost its color splash, and the and while the swept-look may make it look fast its doesn't look nearly as functional.

Honestly with their Drift I'd prefer for it to resemble more of his Deadlock/partially reconstructed form as I don't really mind it too much, the only 100% absolutely necessary buy for me would be a MTMTE/Lost Light Drift

Besides - I'd rather a slightly retooled/tweaked version of Deadlock. Would be the first "repaint" I would buy in a long long time.

It will be a little weird for them to include 2 decos for Megatron in the package but have Drift and Deadlock be repaints.

Hey Lazy can you confirm whether or not MMC is going to keep going forward with magnet storage for weapons? That was pretty much the best thing about the not-cyclonus. These guys are the next sword bots on the list, so it sort of fits. Though they might have actual proper storage.

all the swords can store in both modes, but there's no magnets on the test shot

I actually much prefer the original's alt mode too, but the new one is okay.

The chest plate has to be hard molded and attached to the torso. You're asking for a feature that can't really be automatically assumed for a design because it makes it significantly more complex and difficult to produce, Tyrans part swapping is very much a special case, an exception to the norm. Not something that can be done with these figures.

That's up to our designers, I certainly think its super cool and the best thing about Boreas so would love to see it used again. But I don't think its something that can be done with these figures in particular or with every release given how parts need to be made and molded. If you don't have a nice open space behind a figure that won't conflict in alt mode with a magnet on it then it can't be done.

LostLight or MTMTE Drift would require an entirely new mold as his design is significantly different both proportionally and engineering-wise to the one in this comic so that's not what is being made. All three figures are based on the designs from the 4 part comic Wing is present in. Funnily enough just yesterday I was reading LL vol 5 and going man I wish we could make LostLight Drift too. But sadly if we ever can that's a long long ways off.

Just want to say that this figure looks absolutely incredible. Normally I don't think I'd care about having a Wing figure but I'm gonna pick this up anyway.

I am behind on the IDW comics (I only read the collections) so I have no idea who this guy is and what he transforms into, but I'm curious why many people dig this alt mode (because for me it doesn't really look like anything, like Iron Factory's Drift).

Wing is from the 2010 4-issue Drift miniseries. He's never shown up again and is a really minor character. He's never been shown to transform on panel, and he was part of a group of basically Gundam-looking robots.
