There are 3d plug in shoulder emblems for Weijang MPP10, I wonder if they're the right size...

I can check when my Phoenix comes in. Or if someone can tell me the size of the space for phoenix i can measure the emblem I have!

Got my invoice. Yay. Phonics will be on his way. Luckily I can await patiently while I play with my recently purchased Maketoys Pandinus

With 3-D printing, you have basically two types. Filament extrusion, and resin. The filament extrusion is where you get it a little rougher surface and higher visibility layer lines. Resin is typically a UV light cured liquid material and produces a much cleaner product with minimal to no layer line visibility.

Material cost becomes an issue as resin is expensive and filament is cheap. Resin based prints typically cost 10+ times more than what a filament print would cost. $.02 / gram vs. $.23 / gram currently for what I have on hand.

You can smooth certain types of filament 3D prints depending on the material. If using ABS, you can use acetone. PLA, ABS etc you can also use different brush on products like mentioned that dry smooth. Also sanding and priming the surface prior to painting can yield excellent results. Here's an example of what can be accomplished with filament based printing. I wanted a replica of Hellboy's Samaritan, so I printed off a full size model in pieces, assemble everything and tons of sanding and priming with a good paint job and weathering. Looks legit.

The issue is time and cost. Pretty much everything I offer only costs a few dollars, and I keep the costs down as the hobby is already expensive enough! Plus I don't do this to get rich, mainly just to help everybody out. But everything I offer that has exposed surfaces typically has some sort of sanding and painting done to the final product to assist with making things look better. There are certain situations where you can only do so much without the part costing $50. But for the most part everything I sell has finishing work after printing.

So in regards to your comment that the constructor insignia looks rough, I'm a little confused as to what you mean? As these parts were done in resin and there are no layer lines and the sufaces are smooth.

These are from the sales thread... The blank part and the final product. Not sure what you mean as it being rough looking? As in my opinion they look pretty well polished and totally completes the look. I'm not being pissy, I'm genuinely curious what you are referring to.

thanks for the education, j! I think it might just be the painted version that looked kind of textured or just raw, but I see what you mean that it is not actually rough, just the hand-done nature of the paint. the one on kronos also looked sort of rough in the photo but again might just be the nature of the hand-painted red on it. i also have the constructor neck piece which is super rough and probably interpolated that material type into what i was seeing in the logo photos. you're right, that does look smoother than the neck piece.
    p.s., that revolver looks hella-good!

Yup there is definitely a difference between the neck adapters and the chest insignias. Each were done w different processes. The neck adapters were done with the filament as they are buried inside the part and you do not see them, so therefore no reason to add the additional expense of going with resin on those parts. Also with the roughness it helps with friction on the neck adapter whereas resin would've been more loose. And resin is more brittle and prone to cracking than filament is, so therefore there was a strength issue as well that filament fit the need better than resin. So you kind of pick your poison with the machine you use depending on the application it is being applied to. Those Krono's logos were done prior to my resin machine so they were filament and not as clean as the latest round on constructor. But looked at from a foot away it's hard to see anything that looks off.

Paint is the trickiest part. I have to do things by hand and do not have a commercial silk screen machine... so it's hard to get super crips clean lines. But honestly hastak is sloppy too if you look 6 inches away from most of their things! Hard to get perfect clean lines on things that are 1/4 to 1/2 inch big! But honestly these things are on display and you look at them over a foot away. Unless you were giving your TF a kiss good night every day, I think it's hard to tell any unevenness! But maybe it's my old eyes just can't tell! LOL

It's not uncommon for a tracking number he assigns to be inactive for up to 4 or 5 days. Other than that he is an excellent seller. It's my only gripe about him. Other times it becomes active the next day. It still wouldn't hurt to send a message inquiring about it. I do it all the time. Besides his Phoenix listing was more of a 1-week ahead preorder hence "figure will coming" in the title. Based on a recent conversation with him he won't actually have it in stock until about Monday.

I too have a tracking number from bababobo that doesn't work. It supposedly shipped on the 13th but the number does not work. Contacted him yesterday. He replied today stating the issue was with China Post and that he would contact them. I have a feeling this guy ships once a month and doesn't want people to know. He supplies a tracking number but doesn't deliver anything to the post office until the end of the month and blames China Post if anyone questions him.

I'd say it is an issue with China post. I bought grump off him on the 10th and I'll be getting him today. Eligos the following week and he'll be here Friday.

Unfortunately Ebay will mark an item as shipped when in reality the seller simply printed a shipping label with a tracking number on it. You won't see any activity until the seller's post office actually scans the parcel. So either the seller's post office is moving slow/backed up or the seller hasn't dropped off the parcel yet. Either way you'll get your stuff in the usual time frame with this seller.

Bababoo is an excellent seller and I wouldn't worry. But I think he pulled a tfsource and said he got the item a couple days before everyone else to spike his sales. Phoenix wasn't released until the 19th.

Brandon from the chosen prime told me his release date was the 19th weeks ago. That's why you didn't see posts from chimungmung or action robo until yesterday morning or late Thursday night

I've bought about a dozen things from him and I think he ships every 5 to 7 days.

Both those sellers are local. They can drive over to fanstoys and pickup their stock instead of waiting for delivery

I have had items marked shipped from him and be delivered before the tracking even shows progress. China post is a crap shoot. I have never been shafted by bobo yet and have made tons of purchades.

Well. After a serious drought due to unemployment, I found a job and before I even signed the letter of offer, I went online and ordered this guy from bababobo... I think that's a really good sign that I'm in control of my life! :D

Unemployment? ... true TF fans just treat that as a challenge! :)  (extra aside, I've spent many nights hungry, so I never jest lightly when it comes to the struggle ...)
