So we just got trailer 4 for TLK a few days ago and at the end of the trailer we see bumble fall apart into multiple pieces and then pulls himself back together. What do you think of his new ability? Do you think this will change the fight he has with Optimus to give him an advantage?

I dig it. My speculation, and this is a BIG speculation, is that he may have learned the technology from the way the KSI bots from AoE transformed. The way they basically disintegrate and then come back together could be something that a Cybertronian could incorporate in to their body.

But hey, it could also just be because someone thought 'this would be cool to see in the movie'.

Either way, I'm good with it.

I really like it. It highlights that they are robotic organisms that may look human, but don't function that way. Plus it really reminds me of the early Transformers days. In G1, Beast Wars and Animated, the characters ended up in pieces plenty of times. Talking heads or pieces crawling into place weren't that big of a deal. Bumblebee's move really reminded me of Waspinator from Beast Wars or Optimus Prime in the "City of steel" episode. I'm also not a fan of the less-than-robotic approach to Transformer anatomy from the previous movies, so what I've seen with Bumblebee does make me happy :)

I think it just supposed to be a cool visual, maybe slightly comedic to offset some of the darker stuff that looks like we get later in the movie.

They got some 'splaining to do. It makes characters in past movies that die from getting blown up or torn up look extremely weak.

Shrugging it off like this gives me a big Beast Wars vibe. Inferno was literally blasted into a million pixels, but he came back the next episode no wose for wear.

It's cool, but IMO it should have been given to another character.

This just comes off as making Bee indestructible for his fans.

I was surprised, I must say. At first it rubbed me the wrong way, then I remembered all the times it used for humor in the past, even recently with Knock Out in Prime. If handled correctly and possibly explained (well), I'd be perfectly fine with it. Watch it be a toy gimmick on a one step that looks like crap.

Yeah... Well just because the trailer shows only Bee doing it doesn't mean that others can't to. Because think about it Bumblebee is a major team player wiling to give up his life for others, so with this in mind if Bumblebee did find out how to do this and it's not just like a relic from the ancients then knowing Bumblebee he would teach his fellow autobots how to do it. Other than that it would most likely be a relic of some kind from an ancient Cybertronian that came to Earth. After all TLK is talking about the ancient Cybertronians that came before back in the King Arthur times.

Right now, I find it ridiculously dumb.

If there's a legitimate reason Bee has this power in the film though, then meh.

So he's now made of detachable limbs. He's not immortal.

The impression of being indestructible somehow may lead to boredom & predictability.
And that's why i'm worried about. I mean he can always freakin' do that.

I prefer the ability has something to do with Cogman (if he was inside BB hence the Headmaster Tech).
So the ability can be only used in such limited time.

Being a headmaster thing makes sense.
Earlier in the trailer we are Cogman's eye twitch. And then after he's taken apart one of Bee's eyes falls out. You can't tell me there isn't some kind of symbolism there
