A completely new series - a more mature version of Masterforce (but no Pretenders) in the style of Gundam - Cybertronians fighting alongside non-sentient mecha (transtectors) with human pilots... only the transtectors resembles familiar Transformers from past series and their human pilots have identical personalities to their transtector's namesakes from past series. So the Optimus Prime transtector would look similar to G1 Optimus Prime, act and talk like G1 Optimus Prime but is actually a non-sentient mecha and Optimus Prime's personality is actually that of a human controlling it. But its a completely new series so it wouldn't be the same character as G1 Optimus Prime in a new modern setting as far as the tfwiki would be concerned.

The Cybertronians are one race - no Autobots or Decepticons and no war. So we would have the likes of Jazz, Prowl and Bumblebee under the leadership of Megatron for example. The Cybertronians come to Earth in the future and find the humans at war with each other; one human army being called the Autobots and the other human army called the Decepticons...

You can see where this is going now, can't you?

The Cybertronians split up and end up joining either the Autobots or Decepticons. The Cybertronians Jazz, Prowl and Bumblebee joining with the transtector Optimus Prime and its human pilot's army of Autobots, whereas Megatron takes command of the Decepticon army but the human pilot of the Starscream transtector, former leader of the Decepticons, isn't so happy about that...

Get the nice boys of Trigger to make it, they clearly want to make something with Transformers, they put a reference in almost all of their work. When they were with Gainax they had the Transwhormers episode of Panty and Stocking, Gurren Lagann had some gunmen that were autobot and Decepticons logos waaaay in the background, and the newer stuff they do has it too, in Space Patrol Luluco they rode in Astrotrain to get to space, and in Little Witch Academia Sucy turns into Movie Optimus.

Also like, tons of western animators just love them and are loved by them so I'm sure something could be worked out.

In Japan, Transformers is considered a franchise for kids. I think we can agree that the animated shows are considered for children, anyway. Look up details of the dubbing of any western produced show - weird verbal tics repeated ad nauseum, "wacky" fourth wall breaking, etc. The shows are produced with children younger than 10 in mind.
Does that mean this idea of a Transformers anime with a mature audience could never get off the ground? No. But this perception would be a roadblock to be overcome. I would predict it would mean that the show would need to be produced for an audience of adults in the West, with Hasbro money. I don't remember how G.I. Joe Resolute's popularity with fans translated into sales - but that would be the first thing on Hasbro's mind.

I'm always up for more transformers but the franchise isn't taken seriously enough for a good one.

I mean, Transformers can sell to kids in Japan, land of the declining birth rate and land of the otaku market. Its valuable that way.

We saw what happened when Takara went after the Otaku market: We got Kiss Players

If I remember right, I'm fairly sure more people cared about GI Joe Revolution, the new series, than cared about Resolute. This may have been because Revolution was fun and Resolute wasn't

I am just as apprehensive about Takara attempting to market Transformers to adults. When most of the people in this thread say mature, they mean characters with motivations a viewer can relate with, or storyarcs rather than every problem solved in 23 minutes. But Takara seems to immediately think "moe girls and tentacle monster Megatron"
I feel this idea of a "anime style Transformers series, with more complex storytelling" will never happen. It's one of those ideas perpetually being discussed by some fans somewhere on the net, along with animating a proper season four. The idea never dies, because it never gets made; nobody is asking for more Marvel G1 because we were let down by Regeneration One.
I haven't heard much positive buzz about G.I. Joe Revolutions. I only seem to hear complaints from longtime Joe fans. I'm not a longtime fan, though I recently started getting into the Marvel series, and I really like it so far.

Idk about anyone else but id love a more mature Beast wars cartoon, for young adults to adults. I'd like it to keep up with some of the g1 themes as well as the beast wars themes
    -Idea of crashing on earth
-Start out with 10 autobots and 10 decepticons varying in size
-Keep the idea of protoforms crash landing on earth and each faction has to get to a bot to convert it
-Dont add any new characters until like the end of season 2
-Keep unicron as an Impending threat, but don't make him planet size, rather city bot sized at best-add a little tfprime spice-maybe he could be living within the earth or at least a sacred part of the earth
    -Keep the vok
-add combiner like tripredicus and magnaboss(we here in America only saw toys)
-By season three add Transmetal technology
-Eventually kill off the Optimus character for a rodimus (id prefer a Cheetor Magnus)
-Keep the human interaction minimal at best-add alot like bW, set it in the past or the distant future where most humans are gone and the ones left are repopulating
-Add other factions of transformers-maybe some that live underground, some are space pirates, perhaps a transformers faction that hates both maximals and preds and aim to kill both-that would make for Interesting team ups between foes to battle a common enemy from time to time

MAN IF FANS COULD GET LIKE NETFLIX OR HULU TO PICK UP A TF SERIES.....THE POSSIBILITES ARE ENDLESS

I've gotten some enjoyment out of every iteration of Transformers I've seen. New anime? Sure, I'm up for it.

You're half right. Yes, the show will be made for kids to sell toys. Transformers is owned by a toy company after all. They'd never make a series that can't be shown to children.

However that doesn't mean that it has to be like RID1 or that gawd awful Unicron Trilogy. There are examples of more mature kids shows than that... though I can't really think of any that are Anime... Anyway, as long as there's no blood or nudity involved they can make the show as dark as they want. It only really becomes an adult cartoon if extreme violence and/or nudity are shown. And considering Transformers is a show about robots that actually gives them more freedom for more extreme violence than any other kids show since the characters don't actually have blood. So really the only thing they need to avoid is showing nudity.

Also they can't cuss which also happens in adult Anime. And I actually just remembered that some animes originally intended for Adults were heavily censored to make them suitable for American children. Cuss words were removed from the script for the English dubs, the sauna episode that every Anime seems to have had added steam to cover up what would of been fully naked women, and frames of animation in fight sequences that were deemed too graphic for kids were completely removed from various episodes. So it's possible that Japan could make a more Adult Transformers since cartoons for Adults is much more accepted and common there than it is here for some reason, and then be heavily edited in the States.

Personally I'm not a fan of anime and of common tropes in anime, so I'd rather not see a Transformers anime series.

I'd be happy with a series of movies by Sunrise that retell G1 season 1-3 focusing on key storylines and with a bit more maturity. Keep the old 86 movie in continuity with it but George Lucas it a bit and go back and add some of the scenes that were storyboarded. Of course you'd need at least one more awesome metal tune to add to the carnage that would be Megatron and crew ripping through the season 1-2 bots in autobot city. Also could maybe explain where all the gestalts and Omega were (maybe a more fleshed out version of what IDW did in the comic).

That would be sick to have to autobots getting their assess kicked the first couple seasons and the rest of the seasons is them succumbing to vengeance and retribution against the decepticons. The themes won't be so binary but have more complexity.

I would love to see a new TF anime myself, but one that, while keeping some of the more famous TFs around, allows for new characters to be fleshed out as well. Maybe something like the Great Wars still raging on Cybertron, but in a way, mix it up a bit so that some groups of Cybertronians don't know about the Civil War. And see how they react to it. Make it like G1, or IDW, but make it so that it is its own universe as well.
