It's all good, I got the tokens, but it just took a little longer to get the two new news items.

 

so yeah,got the 2000 red coins.....but ever since last night I haven't been able to use starscream in the events....
this totally bites as I have him at 95 for promotion,which means times that by 3 as he's the featured character....
I can use him in regular events and the spark chase/fort max building,just not the actual event.....
anyone else having this problem?
before the problem,because of his promotion and being the featured bot,i was pulling in 5-6000 points per round.
the other odd thing I noticed is the disssappearing 'batteries....
out of four rounds,after doing the second round,the third battery is gone.....wtf rovio????
besides the battery disappearing issue,i still loose one out of four batteries because the game just turns off about 5-10 seconds into a event round ;(

 

Another new update, with Scorponok soon to be unlockable, as well as a second character, based on the Lockdown model, but in black and purple.
I was able to team up with it once, but haven't been able to repeat it, unfortunately, and no pics saved. He had a Rumble on his head, but it was like a purple silhouette, no features. Probably an unfinished character model.

 

The new Lockdown is clearly Barricade. In the loading screen I noticed some faint red & blue lights on him. As well as some flat white panels.

Edit: Also, anyone else getting a bug where all your Lockdown characters are wearing a sleeping cap?

 

Yup, I saw it clearly now and it's Barricade, of course. Haven't yet seen the sleeping caps on my Lockdown types though.

 

Just for visual reference this is what I'm seeing.

Additionally, my actual Lockdown doesn't have a hat, but now has a hook for his left hand. (And no I'm not talking about his accessory.)

A new event for Scorponok. I'm averaging just under 2000 points per run, using two 105% bots, and since one of them is Ult Megatron, I'm clearing the field and getting every point possible. So how is it that the leader has almost 80,000 points in 8 hours of play? How many gems have already been spent to get there? The mind boggles with some folks.

Honest answer, please - is this game worth this much heartburn and loss of sleep?

 

Eh maybe it's just my iOS iPhone5 or because I'm using the flail & the Armarda horns but I've confirmed on my end that's not the case.

Yes Megatron's weapon chews up the scenery but I don't get points for things destroyed off screen. This may be because of my own system set up, but unless the goal is rockets I tend to refrain from using Megatron because of this.

 

Just out of curiosity, how much spark is required to go from 0-110%? Right now, I'm just not feeling really all that inclined to participate in any of the events with gusto. It's just even if I play as much as I can every day, I'm never going to get enough to get a character up to level 16 or more. So I figure, instead I'll just unlock all the spark in the events (a relatively easy goal) & collect enough that I can promote somebody all the way to 110% in one go. That way, I can take good advantage of the bonus characters for the event.

It'd be nice if Rovio did something like offer 750 tokens for 2nd-3rd place, but they weren't all that interested in my suggesttion.

 

Just in case anyone missed it, there's a hard update (app store) pushed out today. Apparently the bonus percentage cap has been raised from 105% to 140%. Time will tell if the Barricade competition goes live tonight.

And as an aside, I am *SICK* *TO* *DEATH* of ads for Monster Legends.

ADDENDUM
Whoa, it looks like they broke Ultimate Megatron. His shots no longer damage targets away from the initial impact like they have for months and months. Now that lots of people have fully promoted and upgraded UM, he's almost useless. Unless this is fixed, I'm out. It's not worth re-building a strategy from scratch.

 

I just wonder if Ulti Meg's horns aren't working properly. That happened with Explosive damage for a while. Me, I had 3 110 % characters, and I've been spending the past few weeks getting spark. More or less, since I'd been getting bored with the game.

Overcharging characters was near impossible as it was, since if you didn't promote the character to 110% already (who gets the event bonus) there really wasn't any chance to get 1000 tokens anymore. Since I've had Wheeljack at 110% (and I've been promoting him beyond this) I think I've got a shot at doing well enough to supercharge him.

Still, I've been getting more into Battle Bay. There's a lot that isn't covered in the tutorial that I could pass on, if anyone else is playing.

 

The event which started today has Barricade as prize.

Likely not going to get Barricade. Would like to, but simply cannot gather enough tokens during the event.

 

Too bad if you didn't get him. I was able to, but only because Ultimate Megatron had a 4x bonus for that event. Even then I did have to spend a few gems.

I really wish 2nd-3rd place would give 750 tokens. 4th-6th awarding 500.

 

What's the point of overpowering a bot? I overpowered Deadend and it seems that it didn't do anything spectacular

 

If you go the upgrade page of a character, you can see how much the next step gains you when overpowering. In case of Dead End, he only gains 2% when overpowering to level 16. Energon Lockdown gains much, much more when overpowering to level 16. Unfortunately, I will not manage to get enough tokens to upgrade any bot.

 

I hadn't played this game in a couple of years (just letting my son play around here and there), and I decided to check it out and kinda got sucked in a bit again with all of the changes that had gone on (events, Spark runs, etc). Anyways, I could use a bit of advice as to the best way to go forward.

Most of the characters are sitting it levels 5-8, and I just unlocked Ultimate Prime and Megatron (and working through the levelling process with them). Should I be focusing my efforts (both upgrades and spending Spark) on a few characters in particular (such as the Ultimate/Variants)? Also, is it even possible to unlock event characters as a FTP player? I've definitely been thousands of tokens short each week and it is disheartening (though at least I've been using the tokens to buy character upgrade parts and Spark wherever possible).

 

The way things are now you really can't 'win' during any event unless you've already ranked up the bonus character going into the event.

Right now I'm concentrating on getting enough gems to add a tier to the spark run. then I'll just go into farming spark until I run into an event that merits it.

Even still, I having much more fun playing Battle Bay these days. My handle happens to be WreckNRule!

If that had been taken, I think I'd have called myself the Sogmaster.

Like Arie said each character gets a different stat bonus for upgrades. However IMO Deadend was already overpowered so he really didn't need much of a boost. He does seem to be more resistant to damage post upgrade.

I hope another event will give me a chance to upgrade him again, since the next one seems a bit more significant
