I suppose there's no reason why he shouldn't have a French accent. His first mode is a French car. But the then Drift has a Japanese accent and both his cars were German.

 

I don't think characters should be given accents based on their alternate mode model of origin. They would have had those accents long before they ever came to Earth.

 

I never said these movies use out and out slurs. I said i wouldn't put it past them... I mean, there was that deli scene in ROTF.

And, Rik Mayall and Ade Edmondson (if you don't know them them, your loss) often referred to the French as "Nazi Collaborators" when in character. I realise that's a tentative link for me to have made. Perhaps I should write stuff in blue next time you're around.

I think you're probably worth a shit around here, so I'm going to put it down to cultural differences before i get pulled further into in an argument I don't really care about. Especially when for once Im actually sticking up for the movies.

To be honest yes I'm cool, his face looks French actually- if it's possible to 'look French' , however I'll reserve my final judgment for what happens on screen

Agreed lol. People seem to forget that they didn't learn to speak in any Earth language or accent till coming to Earth.

 

I'm going to see how it'll sound first before making judgement but even then I'm not against the idea of them having accents since it'd be weird to see all of the TF characters somehow have American accents not to mention he'll be voiced by a French actor anyway so I don't think we'll be seeing any cartoonish vibes from him. After all Drift was voiced by someone who is of Japanese decent so I wouldn't worry about it.

And all things considered I doubt he is going to play any major role in the movie.
