    Gifted - 8/10

The adult cast was solid, what you would expect from the likes of Chris Evans and Octavia Spencer. Mckenna Grace was the star of the film though, and she was fantastic, made you laugh and cry (at least my wife did). Jenny Slate was also surprisingly good in a dramatic roll as I had only seen her in comedic roles prior to this like Parks & Rec and the Kroll Show.

Justice League Dark - Yet another installment of why we should be in awe of the freaking Batman. It felt like a watered down version of what it should really be. It was watchable, but not great. 6/10

Yay, I finally saw American Psycho. ( haven't read the book either )

    7.5 out of 10.

Interesting movie. Subjective narrative barely masks the occassionaly messy scriptwriting and I feel the representation of the 80's era still is somewhat hamfisted and single sided.
With that said, Bale does indeed carry the movie and he helps to drive the point home that despite having ultra high intelligence, having attained a great career at young age and good looks,
a person can still be a lesser being than human i.e. the ultimate douchebag ; because that's what Patrick Bateman is.

So with the announcement of the M Night's next movie yesterday, decided to watch this since I've had the Bluray for a couple weeks. Yikes. So the character manages to change clothes every time he switches personalities? The other girls just disappear for an entire movie with no characterization? The therapist is literally in the film for exposition dumps and nothing else? Anya Taylor-Joy and McAvoy got the film its points, but still, really disappointed. It also got really dumb in the final act, with all the really dumb things McAvoy's character was suddenly able to do. I knew the twist ending before watching too so whatever.

It's just odd seeing the trash of 2016 get a high praise, but it's cool.

    Free Fire - 3/10

All the characters seemed like rejects from Tarantino and Guy Ritchie movies. They all had the aim of Storm Troopers. The only saving grace was Sharlto Copley. This is the second movie I've seen this year where Brie Larson seemed to only be there to collect a paycheck.

I like "just dumb fun" quasi "indie" flicks as much as anyone, but this one looked stupid as hell. Given that it was actually made 2 years ago, it seems clear they had distribution issues and it was probably on it's way to a straight-to-DVD/streaming release, but then Brie Larson got super popular overnight, and boom, they're trying a theatrical run with it... which is failing miserably likely due to it looking ******ed and the most minimal promotion/marketing ever.

I thought this was pretty funny even if it did scream "by the numbers" in some places. My daughter's definitely enjoyed it much more than my wife and I did though and want us to buy the movie and plushies. -_-"

I'm biased when it comes to action/superhero movies.

    Image isn't working.

I wish I could have been biased on those two, but they completely screwed up Apocalypse and DC has no idea what makes their comics good.
